Oklahoma State Senator Found With Young Boy, May Face Prostitution Charges

Ralph Shortey, a Republican state senator from Oklahoma — and senior member of Donald Trump‘s Oklahoma campaign team — may be facing prostitution charges after being found in a motel room with a boy under the age of 18, reports The Independent. The incident in question took place on March 9 in Moore, Oklahoma. An employee from a local Super 8 Motel said that Shortey checking in March 8 around midnight with a check out scheduled for the following morning. While it is unclear if the employee was the one who alerted the authorities, they did go on confirm that the Moore County Police arrived at the motel shortly after midnight to do a “welfare check” and discovered Shortey and the young boy. If charged, Shortey could face prostitution charges, though the state senator has not been arrested or listed as a suspect at this time. Despite no charges being brought down, Shortey has already been stripped of his Senate committee memberships, barred from his office, and made to return his government computer. Many of his peers in the Oklahoma Senate are calling for him to step aside. [image via screengrab] —— Adam: Twitter.
