‘No Apology Made’: CNN’s Borger Slams Trump for Shifting Blame on Wiretap Claim to Fox

CNN’s Gloria Borger was not impressed that President Trump continued to refuse to take ownership or provide evidence to back up his claims that Trump Tower was wiretapped by the Obama administration. Earlier today, the Trump Administration spoke with United Kingdom officials after Press Secretary Sean Spicer cited a report suggesting that Obama organized the supposed surveillance in collaboration with British intelligence. The report was recently invoked on Fox News by Judge Andrew Napolitano, though the GCHQ has refuted the report while calling it “utterly ridiculous.” The Trump Administration said they would never invoke the report again, and Trump was asked today about whether he regrets making his claims against Barack Obama. Trump went on the defensive over his tweeting, and he said told reporters “you shouldn’t be talking to me, you should be talking to Fox.” Borger was on to to all of this, and she said Trump “elevated” an international incident all while making a joke out of things with German Chancellor Angela Merkel. “This is somebody who can look at classified information, who can find out exactly what occurred, and get to the bottom of things if he wants to, ” Borger said. “But instead, there was no apology made, they were sticking by their story, and I think if I were the Brits right now, I would be even more furious than I was yesterday.” Watch above, via CNN.
