WATCH: Comey Repeatedly Refuses to Answer Questions About Roger Stone and Russia’s Possible Ties
During a House Intelligence Committee hearing, FBI Director James Comey was asked about Roger Stone.
Stone, a friend and supporter of Donald Trump, was reportedly in contact with Guccifer 2.0, a persona affiliated with Russia’s hacking and interference in the 2016 election. Given that Comey had just confirmed that the FBI is investigating any and all possible coordination between Trump’s campaign and Russia, it wasn’t surprising that the director didn’t want to answer any Stone-related questions.
“I’m worried we’re going to a place I don’t want to go, which is commenting on any particular person,” he said. “I don’t think I should comment.”
That didn’t stop Representative Adam Schiff from pressing on anyway, asking if Comey was aware that Stone has “publicly acknowledged” communicating with Guccifer 2.0.
Watch above, but keep in mind how others are perceiving Comey’s reticence.
FBI director’s unwillingness to on Roger Stone (&Schiff’s questions about him) suggests Stone is part of investigation. But no proof
