‘I Genuinely Thought He Was a Menace’: Keith Olbermann On the Ouster of Bill O’Reilly

For years, Keith Olbermann and Bill O’Reilly have taken vicious shots at each other in what has been one of the most prominent feuds in all of cable news. But on Wednesday, Olbermann — now a special correspondent for GQ — seemed to take little pleasure in the announcement that his longtime nemesis had lost his show. “It’s not like I started jumping up and down,” Olbermann told Yahoo‘s Katie Couric. He added, “To me, this seemed inevitable. And in many respects, it’s so past the time it should have happened.” Olbermann recalled his lengthy rivalry with the O’Reilly Factor host, and dismissed the idea that it was in any way fictitious. “People thought it was an act,” Olbermann said. “I genuinely thought he was a menace.” Watch above, via Yahoo!
