Bill O’Reilly to Receive ‘Tens of Millions’ in Severance From Fox News

The day after Fox News announced they were parting ways with star Bill O’Reilly in the wake of revelations of numerous sexual harassment settlements, details of how much he will receive from the network came out. According to CNN, O’Reilly will be paid out “tens of millions of dollars” in severance. As Brian Stelter noted, O’Reilly had recently signed a new contract with Fox worth roughly $25 million a year. The extension through 2021 made it to where O’Reilly was on track to make $100 million over that period of time. While the contract does apparently state Fox doesn’t have to pay the full amount, it will have to give O’Reilly a portion of it, reportedly well north of $10 million. “That’s multiple of ten,” host John Berman stated. “Not a single $10 million.” Following a report by the New York Times on O’Reilly’s multiple sexual harassment allegations, advertisers fled hit program in droves. After Fox News announced the split from O’Reilly, the conservative commentator released a statement blaming the whole situation on “unfounded claims.” Watch the clip above, via CNN.
