Trump Administration Taps Scott Brown as Ambassador to New Zealand

scott brownedited The White House announced today that Scott Brown was the President Donald Trump’s pick to serve as the Ambassador to New Zealand. white house statement Scott Brown Brown was elected to the Senate in a 2010 special election following the death of Sen. Ted Kennedy (D-MA). He was later defeated by Elizabeth Warren in 2012. He ran for the Senate in New Hampshire in 2014 but was unable to defeat Democratic incumbent Jeanne Shaheen. Brown was an early and fervent supporter of Trump’s and was rumored to be in the running to head up the Veteran Affairs department. However, that position ended up going to David Shulkin, an Obama-era holdover. It was reported a couple of months ago that Brown was under consideration for the ambassadorship after Shulkin was named the VA chief.
