With the end of his first hundred days approaching, the tweet seems to be an attempt to get ahead of negative coverage over a very thin list of legislative accomplishments. So far the president has been forced to watch his health care plans fail in Congress and his immigration executive orders halted by federal judges. In his tweet, Trump pointed to “S.C” likely a reference to the successful nomination of Judge Gorsuch to the Supreme Court, but when his 100th day rolls around on April 29, that accomplishment may be the lonely exception that proves the rule. No matter how much I accomplish during the ridiculous standard of the first 100 days, & it has been a lot (including S.C.), media will kill!— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) April 21, 2017
Donald Trump took to Twitter on Friday to dismiss the idea of a first “100 days” calling it a “ridiculous standard’ by which to judge his record. He added that the media would “kill” him no matter how many accomplishments he racked up.
