Mark Cuban: ‘Donald Trump is Political Chemotherapy for the System’

This morning, billionaire Shark Tank star Mark Cuban appeared on CNN’s New Day to talk politics, and more specifically, President Donald Trump. Cuban and Trump have had a peculiar love/hate relationship over the years, which, at least in public, has most recently been on the hate side of the spectrum. Cuban, wearing a lilac shirt, said he now has a better understanding of why Trump got so much support. “I call it ‘political chemotherapy,'” he said, continuing:
One of my friends, who I always thought was really smart, I’m not saying he’s dumb,  but [he] had a different viewpoint on why he voted for Trump. I didn’t expect him to vote for him. He said ‘Mark, I’ve voted for politicians my entire life.’ He’s in his 50s. ‘Do you know what the definition of insanity is? Doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. So I for Donald Trump. Is he poisonous in a lot of respects? Yeah, this is out chemotherapy. We hope he’s going to change the political system.’ And if that’s the way you’re evaluating Donald Trump, he’s doing a phenomenal job.

Cuban said he’s given Trump a C- grade so far for getting stuck on health care, not realizing it would be difficult to navigate changing tax law, and his failure/lack of ability to reach out to Democrats. Check out the whole segment above, courtesy of CNN. [Photo: Screen grab]
