‘I Call Turbo Bullsh*t’: John Oliver Shares His Thoughts on James Comey

The week of James Comey couldn’t truly end until John Oliver had his say, and the late night host did not disappoint on the latest episode of Last Week Tonight. Oliver ripped Trump over both his decision to fire Comey and the subsequent explanations of his decisions. “I was thinking of the Russia investigation when I fired Comey is the one thing that you are not supposed to say out loud,” said Oliver is disbelief. “It’s the kind of response that asks three questions: one, can he really be this stupid? Two, does he really think we as a country are this stupid, and three, are we as a country this stupid?” Oliver also expressed his skepticism of Trump’s account of his dinner with Comey, in which the president said his FBI director told him he was not under investigation. “I call bullshit. I call turbo bullshit on that,” Oliver. “There is now way those conversations went down in that manner.” Oliver then went after Congress, hitting the legislative branch — now entirely in Republican hands — for failing to stand up to Trump. “It is time for each and every one of them to pick a lane here,” he said. “They need to acknowledge that what has happened is fucked up.” Good Monday everyone!
