CNN’s Jake Tapper
said today that the network was asked by the Trump administration not to share information that President Trump
reportedly shared with top Russian officials last week.
He said CNN’s own Evan Perez
learned about credible intelligence regarding ISIS developing laptop computer bombs, and the White House cautioned that some information should be kept out of the report:
“CNN did not report the details. CNN did not report the name of the city. But last night the Washington Post reported and CNN has since confirmed that government officials say that President Trump… revealed highly classified information about this specific ISIS laptop threat.”
Tapper explained that the city Trump reportedly mentioned is the “same city CNN was cautioned not to
He said that CNN showed restraint, “the same restraint that the president did not show with Russian officials.”
