Remember When Trump Talked About Appointing a Special Prosecutor for Hillary Clinton?

Wednesday, Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein rocked Washington with his announcement that he is appointing a special counsel, former FBI Director Robert Mueller, to investigate — among other things — possible “links and/or coordination between the Russian government and individuals associated with the campaign of President Donald Trump.” The announcement brings to mind a moment during the second Presidential debate between Trump and Hillary Clinton on Oct. 9 2016. Trump, at one point, addressed his Democratic rival directly. He said this:
“If I win, I am going to instruct my Attorney General to get a special prosecutor to look into your situation. Because there has never been so many lies, so much deception. There has never been anything like it. And we’re going to have a special prosecutor.”

Less than one year later, the special prosecutor has been appointed. But the target of his probe is not the that Trump intended. Watch above, via Fox News. [image via screengrab] —— Follow Joe DePaolo (@joe_depaolo) on Twitter
