Sean Spicer May Be Out as White House Briefer, Will Reportedly Oversee WH Communications

The best show on daytime television, Sean Spicer‘s daily press briefing, was off the air on Monday, as the White House Press Secretary opted for an off-camera gaggle. But could it be off the air for good? As first reported by Politico and corroborated by Fox News, Spicer will soon stop giving the briefings. In a statement from Deputy Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders, the White House confirmed it is looking to make a hire in the communications department. “We have sought input from many people as we look to expand our communications operation,” Sanders said. “As he did in the beginning, Sean Spicer is managing both the communications and press office.” In the Fox News report, Spicer is said to be taking on an elevated role in the administration where he would oversee communications for the entire administration. Politico reports that Spicer has been involved the search process for his replacement. According to their article, conservative commentator Laura Ingraham and Daily Mail editor David Martosko were interviewed last week. Watch Fox News’ report above.
