Trump: What Happened to Otto Warmbier Was a ‘Disgrace,’ He Should Have Been Brought Home Sooner

Today President Trump made some additional comments on the death of Otto Warmbier, saying that “he should have been brought home a long time ago.” Warmbier was detained in North Korea last year and was finally released this month. He was in a coma when he was released and tragically passed away yesterday. The President said this morning, “It was a disgrace what happened to Otto… Frankly, if he were brought home sooner, I think the result would have been a lot different. He should have been brought home that same day.” He did not directly criticize Barack Obama, but Warmbier’s father was directly critical of the last administration in made last week after his son’s release.
