United States vs. Michael T. Flynn: pic.twitter.com/t9U8H3ORHz— Byron (@ByronYork) December 1, 2017
Earlier today, it was reported that former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn was expected to plead guilty to at least one count of willfully lying to FBI agents in relation to his conversations with the Russia ambassador. It seems likely that Flynn’s guilty plea is part of a larger plea deal with Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s probe into Russian election meddling and any potential collusion between Russian officials and the Trump campaign. Recently, it had been reported that Flynn’s legal team had broken off communication with the president’s lawyers when it came to the Russia investigation, suggesting that the Flynn was reaching a plea agreement and working with the special counsel. Based on the guilty plea, Flynn’s false statements to the FBI occurred while he was actually serving in the White House in the capacity of national security adviser.
