April Ryan: I Wasn’t Invited to WH Christmas Party, But ‘I Would Not Have Gone Anyway’

American Urban Radio Networks White House Correspondent April Ryan talked today about not being invited to the White House Christmas party for the press, telling Brian Stelter she didn’t even care. As Stelter noted, CNN essentially boycotted the party and said in a statement, “CNN will not be attending this year’s White House Christmas party. In light of the President’s continued attacks on freedom of the press and CNN, we do not feel it is appropriate to celebrate with him as his invited guests. We will send a White House reporting team to the event and report on it if news warrants.” Ryan said she knew she wasn’t going weeks ago, presumably because “they did not want me at the party,” but it didn’t bother her and she didn’t complain to the press office about it. She brought up how she was included in a Trump campaign ad this when they mentioned her among the President’s “enemies” in the media, saying, “I would not have gone anyway.” Watch above, via CNN.
