Romney Blasts Roy Moore After Trump Endorsement: ‘No Majority is Worth Losing Our Honor’

Hours after President Trump fully endorsed Roy Moore, Mitt Romney is slamming the embattled Senate candidate and saying that his election would be a disastrous stain on the GOP. Trump travelled to Utah with Orrin Hatch today, and the president used part of a speech to express hope that the senator will run for re-election. Trump also called Romney a “good man” at one point, though his praise for Hatch comes amid recent indications that Romney is interested in running for the senator’s seat once he retires. Trump’s endorsement comes after Moore has already lost support from the National Republican Senatorial Committee and the Republican National (which is headed by Romney’s niece) due to his alleged underaged sexual misconduct. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell originally called on Moore to step aside, but he most recently said he would allow the voters to decide Moore’s fate. UPDATE – 5:34 p.m. EST: Moore’s firing back. [Image via screengrab] — —
