Trump Triples Down on Moore Support: We Don’t Want a Liberal Democrat in Alabama

President Trump reiterated his support for Roy Moore once again by attacking the beleaguered senate candidate’s opponent during a White House event today. As Trump held a GOP luncheon to discuss the final steps for pushing tax reforms through Congress, he was asked whether he still supports Moore despite the lingering controversy of his alleged sexual misconduct towards minors. Trump said he expects Moore to do “very well” in next week’s senate race, and he proceeded to trash Doug Jones. “We don’t want to have a Liberal Democrat in Alabama. Believe me,” Trump said. “We want strong borders and stopping crime. We want to have the things that we represent and we don’t want a Liberal Democrat that is controlled by Nancy Pelosi and controlled by Chuck Schumer. We don’t want to have that for Alabama.” Moore has a solid chance of winning the election since most polled Republican voters don’t believe the claims against him, and also because the RNC is once again providing support for his campaign. This comes despite the fact that once of Moore’s accuser’s recently dug up a graduation letter he sent her, as proof of their connection many years ago. In terms of Jones’ career in law enforcement, the Democratic candidate has taken on white-collar criminals, KKK members and murderers throughout his life as an attorney. If this makes Jones as weak on crime as Trump says, well, that’s up for interpretation. Watch above, via CNN. [Image via screengrab] — —
