CNN’s Acosta Confronts Sarah Sanders Over Trump’s Moore Support: Making a ‘Moral Decision’

He doesn’t get a question every day. But when he does, it usually results in a noteworthy confrontation. During Tuesday’s White House press briefing, Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders did indeed call on CNN’s Jim Acosta. And Acosta, CNN’s senior White House correspondent, took the opportunity to confront Sanders over President Donald Trump‘s endorsement of Alabama Senate candidate Roy Moore — who has been accused by multiple women of child molestation and sexual assault. “This is someone who has been accused of child abuse, of molesting children,” Acosta said. “How can that vote in the Senate be that important that you would take a gamble on somebody who has been accused of molesting kids?” Acosta added, “Has he wrestled with that question?” Sanders responded by delivering what has become her standard answer on questions relating to Trump’s support of Moore. “As I said we find the allegations troubling,” Sanders said. “And again this is up to the people of Alabama to make that decision. I’m not a voter in Alabama and can’t make that decision.” Watch above, via CNN. [featured image via screengrab] —— Follow Joe DePaolo (@joe_depaolo) on Twitter
