It’s official. President Trump fulfilled his promise today by signing the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act in to law just ahead of the Christmas holiday weekend. This is a significant milestone for the president since it marks his first major legislative achievement in office. Trump also took time today to sign a missile defense bill and a temporary spending bill which will hold off any chance of a government shutdown until mid-January. Based on his remarks in the Oval Office and his tweets from earlier today, it seems that infrastructure reform is the next political area Trump wants to focus on.

At some point, and for the good of the country, I predict we will start working with the Democrats in a Bipartisan fashion. Infrastructure would be a perfect place start. After having foolishly spent $7 trillion in the Middle East, it is time to start rebuilding our country! — Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) December 22, 2017
