CNN’s Toobin Goes Off on Fox & Friends: ‘That Is Not Real Journalism’

CNN’s Jeffrey Toobin dinged President Trump for avoiding questions from non-Fox News outlets, but he went off on Fox & Friends in particular for being a Presidential safe space. The co-hosts of Fox & Friends were named Mediaite‘s Most Influential in News Media of 2017, and whether you love or hate the morning show, the President’s routine of watching them in the morning, then tweeting about the things they discuss, thus setting off the national conversation gives them unprecedented influence. Wolf Blitzer and his panel were discussing CNN’s reporting that President Trump wanted to hold an end-of-year press conference, but advisers cautioned against it because of potential questions about Russia and other “distractions.” Toobin said Trump is clearly not interested in taking that many questions outside of Fox News and their “extremely favorable conditions.” And then he called out Fox & Friends in particular, saying he no problem “insulting” them and saying of the show, “That is not real journalism… They’re the ones who get access to the President.” Watch above, via CNN.
