Trump’s Ambassador to the Netherlands Apologizes for Fake ‘Fake News’ Claim

Earlier this week, Pete Hoekstra––the newly-appointed U.S. Ambassador to the Netherlands––objected to “fake news” about something he said, even thought it was… something he said. Reporter Wouter Zwart asked him about past comments he made about “no-go zones” in the Netherlands, and Hoekstra called it “fake news.” He was shown the clip and reacted by saying, “I didn’t call that fake news. I didn’t use the word today, I don’t think I did.” This morning Hoekstra tweeted an apology today, saying he “regret[s] the exchange”: [image via screengrab] — — Follow Josh Feldman on Twitter: @feldmaniac
