Trump went on to that his first year in office is “perhaps” the most successful of any president in US history.
Remember, the Republicans are 5-0 in Congressional races this year. In Senate, I said Roy M would lose in Alabama and supported Big Luther Strange – and Roy lost. Virginia candidate was not a “Trumper,” and he lost. Good Republican candidates will win BIG!— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) December 23, 2017
In the case of Moore, at no point in the election between him and Democrat Doug Jones did Trump state he “knew” the candidate and alleged child molester would lose. In fact, reports suggest the president was actually upset that he was swayed by Republican allies into supporting Moore’s primary opponent Luther Strange who ended up losing to the eventual GOP nominee. Additionally, while initially holding back on his support for Moore — given the numerous, credible allegations of sexual misconduct and predatory behavior — the president ultimately endorsed the candidate and passionately supported him via remarks in a speech and a number of tweets. “We cannot afford — this country, the future of this country — cannot afford to lose a seat in the very, very close United States Senate… We can’t afford to have a liberal Democrat who is completely controlled by Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer. We can’t do it,” said Trump while speaking to a crowd in Pensacola, Florida — a city not far from the Alabama state line. He continued his remarks by saying “do it, do it” regarding whether or not Republicans should vote for Moore. Given that Trump reportedly spent a significant amount of time seething over the fact that his endorsed candidate lost in the GOP Alabama primary, it appears that he is repeating this line of regret in the case of Moore’s loss. The Stock Market is setting record after record and unemployment is at a 17 year low. So many things accomplished by the Trump Administration, perhaps more than any other President in first year. Sadly, will never be reported correctly by the Fake News Media! — Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) December 23, 2017
