The Office star Jenna Fischer has officially issued an apology for a tweet about the GOP tax bill that was later proven to be untrue last weekend.
On Wednesday, the actress released a statement via Twitter. “I made a mistake and I want to correct it,” Fischer said. “I feel genuinely bad for getting my facts wrong and I’m sorry. I did not mean to spread misinformation. I was well-intentioned, but I was behind on my research:”
In the since-deleted tweet, Fischer originally said “I can’t stop thinking about how school teachers can no longer deduct the cost of their classroom supplies on their taxes…”
