Barack Obama Highlights Positive 2017 Stories to ‘Remind Us What’s Best About America’

While President Donald Trump used his Twitter account this morning to complain about Fake News, call the Post Office dumb and poor, retweet TPUSA founder Charlie Kirk’s praise of him and hold DACA ransom, his predecessor decided to tweet about some slightly different things today. Former President Barack Obama used his social media account to highlight a number of positive stories from the past year, stating that these stories “remind us what’s best about America.” In a series of tweets, he spotlighted individuals who had made a positive impact by their actions. He ended his thread by declaring each “of us can make a difference, and all of us ought to try.” The first tweet in the thread had been retweeted over 37,000 times and liked more than 150,000 times less than two hours after it was sent out. This isn’t anything new for the ex-prez. Overall, Obama had 3 of the top 10 most retweeted tweets of 2017. Trump didn’t make that list with any of his tweets.
