Jake Tapper Slams Trump’s Latest Round Of Outrageous Tweets: Not ‘Stable Behavior’

On Tuesday’s special evening edition of CNN’s The Lead, Jake Tapper responded to Donald Trump’s bizarre string of tweets that still has many in bewilderment, including an attack to North Korean leader Kim Jong Un. Tapper displayed how much our version of normal has changed by referencing several presidents’ views on war. “A nuclear war cannot be won and must never be fought,” Tapper said, quoting Ronald Reagan. He then highlighted the gravity of the tweets with an ominous warning:
‘The bellicose back and forth comes a former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff is warning that the US is ‘closer to a nuclear war with North Korea then ever before,’ adding that he did not ‘see the opportunities to solve this diplomatically at this particular point.'”
Tapper then responded to the type of impact this kind of rhetoric can actually have. “President Trump this evening, he’s in a back and forth with Kim Jong-Un over whose nuclear button is bigger and whose has more power. It may be difficult for those of you at home to wrap your minds around a US president who makes statements like this about the use of nuclear weapons, which would of course murder millions of people,” Tapper Said. Turning from one crazy tweet to another, Tapper mentioned Trump’s tweet referencing his “Most Dishonest & Corrupt Media Awards,” which he tweeted out mere moments after his North Korea tweet. “None of this normal, none of this acceptable, none of this––frankly––stable behavior,” Tapper said about he summarized the over-the-top string of tweets.
