Sarah Huckabee Sanders Teases the Press About Trump’s Upcoming ‘Fake News’ Awards

Sarah Huckabee Sanders conducted her daily press briefing this afternoon and managed to deflect multiple questions about Steve Bannon and those excerpts from Michael Wolff’s tell-all book, in which the former White House chief strategist called the infamous Trump Tower meeting “treasonous” and “unpatriotic.” Lost amid these numerous questions on Bannon was a follow-up about President Donald Trump’s bizarre tweet yesterday announcing that he would be holding an awards ceremony for “the most dishonest and corrupt media.” “I certainly don’t want to spoil anything,” Sanders seemed to joke, in response to a question about these awards. “My guess is that there are quite a individuals that could be up for those awards and, beyond that, I think we’ll have to see what happens on Monday.” A reporter asked if members of the press would be in the room for the auspicious ceremony, to which Sanders replied “I will certainly keep you posted.” “It might be hard for him to present trophies if you guys aren’t there but, I don’t know, we’ll have to wait and see what happens on Monday.” Sanders did not showcase any possible designs for the trophies, but we are going to go ahead and imagine a blank newspaper with “FAKE NEWS” spread across the masthead. It’s either that or there are still some diplomas laying around from Trump University. Watch above, via CNN. [image via screenshot]Follow Lawrence Bonk (@sidescrollers) on Twitter
