It appears All The Money in the World is facing even more controversy.
The film was caught up in the Kevin Spacey scandal just weeks before its Christmas release, but instead of delaying the release, director Ridley Scott chose to recast Spacey with Christopher Plummer, which required intense reshoots.
However, a new report shows a steep pay gap between the film’s other two stars for those reshoots.
According to USA Today, Mark Wahlberg was reportedly paid $1.5 million for those reshoots while Michelle Williams was only paid… $1,000.
And in the wake of the gender equality movement that’s been taking over Hollywood, Twitter had a strong reaction to his pay gap.
This is shameful. And both Wahlberg and Williams are repped by the same agency: WME….Exclusive: Wahlberg paid $1.5M for ‘All the Money’ reshoot, Williams got less than $1,000 https://t.co/Ig59pht7M8— Yashar Ali (@yashar) January 2018
I started this last night and now it has been confirmed by others. Michelle Williams paid under 1,000 and Mark Wahlberg paid 1.5m. Williams was told they were all donating their time for the reshoots. THIS IS AN EGREGIOUS GENDER PAY GAP. #paymichelle https://t.co/edORyoNkgf https://t.co/red4f2LQF4 — Melissa Silverstein (@melsil) January 10, 2018
Williams (and others) volunteered time and gave up salary for the Spacey-eliminating reshoots because of belief in the cause. Wahlberg’s people secretly negotiated him another $1.5 million. https://t.co/uPopsyYfwq — Ken Tremendous (@KenTremendous) January 10, 2018
Mark Wahlberg doesn’t have even 1% of Michelle Williams’ acting ability — Jon (@prasejeebus) January 10, 2018
This is so messed up that it is almost hard to believe. Almost. This is how this business works. I wonder if the studio or Wahlberg will do something to make the situation less insane. https://t.co/RsunBlOeCk — Judd Apatow (@JuddApatow) January 10, 2018
The eye-opening detail here (besides “WOW this sucks”) is that both Wahlberg and Williams are represented by the same agency — but maybe not for long! https://t.co/2QUr5y0HGQ — Caroline Framke (@carolineframke) January 10, 2018
Michelle Williams came back to do the reshoots after Spacey was replaced for free, only being paid her per diem. It seems Wahlberg wanted his coins. https://t.co/Tv0LZ9hkBL — Ira Madison III (@ira) January 10, 2018
Before you condemn Wahlberg for this, consider the level of acting talent he’s bringing to this project & then condemn him way more enthusiastically. https://t.co/2t9MxTsXYu — Paul F. Tompkins (@PFTompkins) January 10, 2018
Mark Wahlberg was paid 1,500 times what Michelle Williams was paid for work the studio had to do in order to remove an accused sexual predator from their movie. — Liam Stack (@liamstack) January 10, 2018

That’s outrageous if true and considering that she has more talent in her pinky than he has in his whole body. L https://t.co/fzkgCNTPvv via @usatoday — Tom & Lorenzo (@tomandlorenzo) January 10, 2018
