Reporter Asks Trump About General’s Warning of ‘Big-Ass Fight’: Is War ‘Imminent’?

During President Trump‘s press conference today with the Norwegian Prime Minister, he was asked about a general who recently signaled that Norway would factor into an imminent international conflict. At the end of 2017, Gen. Robert Neller visited the Norwegian Home Guard to speak with a battalion of U.S. Marines about the strategic importance of their role in maintaining international peace. According to, Neller alluded to the coming of a “big-ass fight” that would take place on multiple fronts worldwide. “I hope I’m wrong, but there’s a war coming,” Neller said. “You’re in a fight here, an informational fight, a political fight, by your presence.” A Norwegian journalist asked Trump about when the war would happen, though it seems the president had no idea what Neller was talking about. He proceeded to give a brief address about achieving peace through strength. “Maybe he knows that I don’t know,” Trump said of the general. “I don’t expect that. I think we’ll have, because of strength, peace through strength. I think we’ll have a long period of time of peace.” Watch above, via CNN. [Image via screengrab] — —
