Watch Dutch Reporters Brutalize Trump Ambassador Over False Claims About Muslims

The new United States ambassador to the Netherlands is having a rough welcoming, as Dutch reporters viciously grilled Pete Hoekstra yesterday on his conspiracy-tinged comments about Muslims living in the country. In 2015, Hoekstra claimed that “stealth jihad” was taking place in Europe via refugees — who he referred to as “invaders” — and that the entire country was in a state of “chaos,” according to The Intercept. “Cars being burned, there are politicians that are being burned… And yes, there are no-go zones in the Netherlands,” said Hoekstra while discussing the country’s minority Muslim population. During a recent press conference, a Dutch reporter asked, “Are politicians being burned in the Netherlands…? Is that something you believe, yes or no?” Hoekstra refused to answer the question, but the brutal interrogation wasn’t over. Immediately after his dodge, he was hit with another question on the subject as the room remained on topic. “If you are an honest and wise man, would you please take back the remark about burned politicians — or name a politician that was burned in the Netherlands?” another journalist questioned. The grilling continued with a different questioner: “Why don’t you answer the question? This is the Netherlands; you have to answer questions.” While Hoekstra told the crowd he was “moving on” from the anti-refugee remarks, he still couldn’t avoid the issue, as yet another reporter asked, “Will you be visiting our ‘no-go areas’?” His attempt at escaping a direct confrontation on the remarks by using the Trump administration’s “fake news” motto didn’t go so well either, as Hoekstra was quickly refuted on Twitter after he claimed he didn’t make the “no go-zones” comment when there is video of him doing just that.
