Lewandowski on Explosive Trump-Porn Star Report: ‘Don’t Know Why This is a News Story’

Corey Lewandowski appeared on Chris Cuomo’s new CNN show Friday night, and was inevitably asked about a breaking Wall Street Journal report that the president’s lawyer Michael Cohen arranged to pay a porn star $130k one month before the 2016 election to keep quiet about her sexual affair with Donald Trump. Cuomo quizzed Lewandwoski about the report (feigning some ignorance over the porn star’s name: “I think she goes by Stormy Daniels” — you know her name Chris…) and the Trump adviser dismissed the story outright. “I’ve only heard what’s being reported in the last couple hours,” Lewandowski said, “which is, the White House has said this is an allegation that which was talked about prior to the election was shot down, and she has said that there’s no truth to this” — referring to a statement sent to the WSJ by Cohen, signed by “Stormy Daniels,” denying she ever had sex with Trump. “So I don’t know why this is a news story,” Lewandowski said. Cuomo pressed that the story is being reported by the always-cautious Wall Street Journal, and aggregated by other “Murdoch-owned” outlets like the New York Post and Fox News. Lewandowski argued that “factual errors” have been made “on many occasions” by outlets covering Trump, and reiterated that “Stormy” is on the record denying she received any payment from Cohen.
