On Tuesday night, Jimmy Kimmel had some fun at the expense of Mitt Romney for the endorsement he recently earned from President Trump. Last week, Romney officially announced that he was running for Senate in Utah. And yesterday, Trump tweeted that he would give his full support to the candidate, which he gladly accepted despite the bitterness between the two of them during the 2016 election. Kimmel mocked Romney for accepting Trump’s endorsement after he once tweeted that he would not have accepted it in 2012 based on his campaign rhetoric about various groups of people. “Boy, when Mitt gets to the Senate, he’s gonna fit right in,” Kimmel joked. Kimmel then claimed that Trump is “putting the full weight of his office” in Romney’s campaign by funding campaign ads on television and showed one of them to his audience, which was voiced by “Donald Trump.” “Mitt will hard for the people of Utah and he will stand up to me,” the president ‘says’ in the ad. The ad then shows Romney calling Trump a “phony” and a “fraud” and that he’s “playing the members of the American public for suckers” from his anti-Trump speech made in 2016. “Trump” then took shots that “Spineless” Paul Ryan and “Cowardly” Mitch McConnell before insisting that Romney “has the guts” to call out his “disgusting behavior.” “The bullying, the greed, the showing off, the misogyny, the absurd third-grade theatrics,” Romney listed during the election. “The president” then told viewers that Romney will “expose his lies and empty promises” and point out his “frightening mental deficiencies.” “Don’t let me destroy this great country,” Trump continued. “Mitt won’t take sh*t.” Watch the clip above, via ABC.
