Charlie Rose Resurfacing? Disgraced Anchor Reportedly Set to Appear at Sun Valley Billionaires’ Conference

The annual Allen & Company Conference draws A-listers in media and tech each summer to Sun Valley for a casual get together with big potential for networking and deal-making. While industry titans including Jeff Bezos, Rupert Murdoch and Mark Zuckerberg are natural fits for the guest list, this year Charlie Rose also made the cut, according to Variety. The disgraced former PBS and CBS star abruptly disappeared from the spotlight after being outed in the #MeToo movement, facing allegations of sexual harassment from dozens of women. The invite has left some in the media flabbergasted, asking where the media industry will draw the line and shut the accused out for good. But Rose isn’t the only controversial invite, Bloomberg reported. Also included is NBC’s Tom Brokaw, who has been fending off claims he harassed coworkers, one of them Linda Vester, who says he repeatedly attempted to forcibly kiss . While Bloomberg notes invitations do not guarantee guests will appear, the publication states Rose “is slated to attend.” Harvey Weinstein, once one of the conference’s regulars, was not invited, Variety said. The event will take place in July, and has led media influencers to score major deals, one of the most notable being Bezos’ purchase of The Washington Post.
