Fox’s Harris Faulkner Scolds Chris Matthews For ‘Negative’ Summit Coverage: ‘It’s Entertainment’

Harris Faulkner took the lead among her Outnumbered colleagues today as they bashed the media for their critical coverage regarding President Donald Trump‘s meeting with Kim Jong Un. Congressman Lee Zeldin (R-NY) was on the couch as today’s #OneLuckyGuy, and he engaged the ladies as they talked about Trump’s post-summit suggestions of pulling U.S. troops away from South Korea. Democratic commentator Jessica Tarlov criticized Trump for using North Korea’s “war games” reference to American defensive military drills. Faulkner replied that the president’s terminology was “borrowed from video games, somewhat.” As Zeldin defended Trump’s approach to the summit, the panel eventually switched gears to focus on the negative headlines that came out of yesterday’s encounter. The group particularly got annoyed over a clip where MSNBC’s Chris Matthews expressed concern about how Trump seemed to cozy up to Kim like he has with other authoritarian leaders in the past. Francis called the Hardball host’s comments embarrassing, and Faulkner followed up with “I am also reminded that it’s entertainment.” Faulkner continued to scold the media for being “so negative,” and also “disingenuous” by expecting Trump to completely resolve the North Korea issue in a single meeting.
