Republican Senator Rand Paul of Kentucky blasted National Security Adviser John Bolton by saying he hoped the hawkish White House official was kept at “the children’s table” during President Donald Trump’s North Korea summit. “John Bolton was at the table — I’m sure the president had that by design,” Fox News host Neil Cavuto noted to Paul while the libertarian-leaning lawmaker appeared on the network. “What is your response?” “My hope is that he was at the children’s table and that he wasn’t influencing the discussion among adults,” shot back Paul. Bolton is not the first neo-conservative to be attacked by the Kentuckian following Trump’s summit with Kim Jong Un, as Paul also tore into Senator Lindsey Graham and said he “is a danger to the country by even proposing ideas like authorizing war with Korea” while appearing on CNN. As far as Paul’s position on the summit, senator praised the steps toward peace made by Trump and Kim in Singapore this week. “I think giving up the war games, which happens twice a year, is a perfectly appropriate thing to do, as President Trump said, as long as there’s progress,” Paul said to Cavuto this afternoon. “North Korea offered to do no more testing — that’s not denuclearization, but those are two good initial steps.” Watch above, via Fox News.
