The board of CBS Corporation has reportedly had enough of embattled CEO Les Moonves, and is negotiating a massive exit package in an effort to oust him from the company. According to CNBC, the CBS board is offering Moonves — who has been accused of sexual harassment by six womenan exit package of approximately $100 million to entice the executive to walk away. Under that arrangement, Moonves, remarkably, would be forfeiting approximately $80 million in compensation which he would reportedly be owed as part of a severance package and a production deal. The accusations against Moonves were made public as part of a bombshell report in the New Yorker written by Ronan Farrow on July 27. In a statement published by the New Yorker, Moonves said, “I recognize that there were times decades ago when I may have made some women uncomfortable by making advances. Those were and I regret them immensely.” The CNBC report states that CBS COO Joe Ianniello would be named interim CEO, if the company is able to negotiate Moonves’s exit.
