Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is often asked about the level of government intervention she wants for her proposed Green New Deal; but lately, she has had a tough time keeping her answers consistent. Sometimes, the contradictions can happen within the same day. A Grabien News flashback clip shows Ocasio-Cortez from Thursday, in the morning saying she has “no problem” accepting that her deal requires “massive government intervention,” and then later that day accusing the right of mischaracterization for saying the same thing. “Are you prepared to put on the table that, yes, actually they’re right. What this requires is massive Government intervention — ” asked NPR morning podcast host Steve Inskeep, when the young Democratic congresswoman interjected affirmatively: “It does. It does, yeah. I have no problem saying that.” But later that day, it seems Ocasio-Cortez forgot what she’d said earlier, pushing the label of ‘massive government intervention’ as coming from the right. “I think one way that the right does try to mischaracterize what we’re doing, as though it’s like some kind of massive Government takeover,” she told MSNBC’s Chuck Todd in an exclusive interview.
