Two separate but related incidents occurred to photographers covering President Donald Trump’s Monday night rally in El Paso, Texas BBC’s Ron Skeans was reportedly attacked and shoved to the ground by an unidentified supporter and Time photojournalist Chris Morris was grabbed by the neck and shoved to the ground by a Secret Service agent during a separate incident. President Trump often complains about what he sees as unfair media coverage, and at Monday’s rally directed attention to the press covering the event that led to the predictable boos and chants of “CNN sucks!” Skeans’ BBC colleague, reporter Gary O’Donoghue shared video, of the attack by the Trump supporter, the details of which are still unclear:
In a separate but related incident, it appears that another photographer covering the event for TIME was also shoved to the ground by someone identified as a Secret Service
This is the shameful moment when my cameraman Ron Skeans was attacked at an @realDonaldTrump rally in El Paso last night – warning this video contains strong language. Happily Ron is fine. pic.twitter.com/Ay5DYT6gjP— Gary O’Donoghue (@BBCBlindGazza) February 12, 2019
The New York Daily News posted the following gif on Twitter that shows a wider angle:
The Time photographer manhandled by the Secret Service agent is Chris Morris, who has covered events for the magazine for nearly three decades. According to a report by Yahoo! Politics Michael Walsh:

“I stepped 18 inches out of the pen and he grabbed me by the neck and started choking me. Then he slammed me to the ground,” Morris told CNN reporter Jim Acosta onsite.
