Fire Who? ‘The Late Show’ Just Scored Best Ratings Since Premiere

It’s safe to say Stephen Colbert isn’t too concerned about his job security.
After the hashtag #FireColbert reached trending levels of popularity on social media earlier this week, “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” posted its best overnight ratings since the show’s 2015 premiere week on Thursday night.
Days before, the late-night host told an off-color joke about President Donald Trump being Vladimir Putin’s “cock holster,” which many deemed to be homophobic. The crack sparked the hashtag #FireColbert, which was quickly co-opted by conservative types, who were less concerned with the joke’s problematic implications and instead rallied to get Colbert fired for his anti-Trump views.
It turns out that the backlash only made him stronger. The show scored a scored a 2.5 rating, according to CBS, easily Continue reading "Fire Who? ‘The Late Show’ Just Scored Best Ratings Since Premiere"

Megyn Kelly To Reportedly Interview Kardashian Family For NBC Debut

Ever since Megyn Kelly announced she was leaving her post at Fox News after a dozen years, many have eagerly anticipated how she would differentiate herself on her new network, NBC.
The vision for Kelly’s show, which is set to debut in June, got a little bit clearer this week: She will reportedly welcome a large contingent of the Kardashian family as her first guests.
Kelly was spotted during filming of the family’s long-running reality show, “Keeping Up with the Kardashians,” on Thursday. But, according to TMZ, the meet-up was actually part of her plan to sit down with Kim, Khloe, Kourtney, Kylie, Kendall and Kris for an in-depth interview. Rob Kardashian and Caitlyn Jenner will reportedly not be in attendance.
The interview will take up Continue reading "Megyn Kelly To Reportedly Interview Kardashian Family For NBC Debut"

Madonna’s Waited Almost 30 Years To Drag Pepsi. This Is Her Moment.

Let’s say it all together now: P-E-T-T-Y.
Since everyone else has been dragging Pepsi and Kendall Jenner on social media for the company’s cringeworthy ad, the queen bee Madonna decided to weigh in on the controversy with some choice shade and a bit of a history lesson.
First, let’s start off with the shade, because this is Madonna, after all, and no one can do it like she can. Shortly after Pepsi decided to pull the ad and apologize to Jenner (instead of everyone who was offended), the pop star made her allegiance with soda’s rival brand, Coca-Cola, crystal clear.
On Wednesday, Madonna shared a throwback photo of herself at the 1999 Grammy Awards carrying a Coke, captioning the shot with a single gold medal emoji. She even zoomed in Continue reading "Madonna’s Waited Almost 30 Years To Drag Pepsi. This Is Her Moment."

Kendall Jenner Appropriates The Resistance To Sell You Pepsi

You know how teachers in well-intentioned, but unavoidably cringey ‘90s movies starring some nice white lady tried to appeal to the youth by having her rap Shakespeare?
Well, a new Pepsi ad featuring Kendall Jenner is kind of like that, but somehow even more terrible. This two-and-a-half-minute disaster co-opts imagery of the various protests that have taken place before and after Donald Trump’s election, as well as the anger felt by many people, especially millennials, for the brand’s benefit.
The ad follows the reality TV star as she joins a crowd of young people marching by her totally casual street-side photoshoot. Whipping off her blond wig and smearing her lipstick, young Jenner picks up a Pepsi as her contemporaries of all races and orientations smile at her and fist bump along. Seriously. Someone actually fist bumps her.
That’s when the supermodel approaches a line of Continue reading "Kendall Jenner Appropriates The Resistance To Sell You Pepsi"

Van Jones Endorses Oprah As The ‘Superstar’ To Defeat Trump In 2020

We’re only 55 days into Donald Trump’s presidency, but CNN correspondent Van Jones is already endorsing a candidate that could go toe-to-toe with him come 2020.
During a visit to “Watch What Happens Live” on Wednesday night, Jones was peppered with questions from host Andy Cohen about the state of the country, but it was a caller who got him to reveal his pick for a future Democratic candidate to challenge Trump.
After acknowledging that Sen. Kamala Harris (D-Calif.) and Sen. Cory Booker (D-N.J.) would be worthy selections in any other election, Jones gave his full support to none other than television host and media mogul Oprah Winfrey.
“For real. Listen, I’m telling you. I love a lot of the Democrats,” he said. “I love Kamala Harris, who’s coming up in California. I love Cory Booker, who I’ve known for 20 years. This new Joe Continue reading "Van Jones Endorses Oprah As The ‘Superstar’ To Defeat Trump In 2020"

Madonna Lets The F-Bombs Fly On Live TV In Anti-Trump Speech At Women’s March

Unapologetic as always.
Madonna was among a host of celebrities who joined the Women’s March on Washington Saturday, in solidarity with the hundreds of thousands of women marching in the capital and around the country the day after President Donald Trump’s inauguration.
The singer, who has been vocal about her distaste for the former reality TV star since the beginning of his campaign, took the stage in D.C. to deliver an impassioned and profanity-laced speech about the importance of a political moment that forces everyone to “wake the fuck up.”
“Welcome to the revolution of love, to the rebellion, to our refusal as women to accept this new age of tyranny, where not just women are in danger, but all marginalized people,” she said. “It took this Continue reading "Madonna Lets The F-Bombs Fly On Live TV In Anti-Trump Speech At Women’s March"

Oprah Winfrey Clarifies Her Trump Optimism After Twitter Backlash

We think it’s safe to say Twitter won’t be on Oprah Winfrey’s list of favorite things for the next few years.
The former talk show host/part-time Lindsay Lohan counselor caused some controversy last week after Donald Trump’s upset presidential victory. On Nov. 10, she posted a photo of the president-elect meeting president Obama in the White House. Winfrey captioned the image “Everybody take a deep breath” with the hashtag #HopeLives.

Those who weren’t so keen in sharing in Winfrey’s optimism in the wake of Trump’s victory let their frustration be known in her Twitter mentions.
Many accused the media mogul of attempting to normalize Trump after the hateful rhetoric of his campaign, while others could only muster up a “DON’T YOU DARE OPRAH.”
