Fox News’ Jeanine Pirro exclaimed that the ‘Deep State’ is about to be exposed, citing recent comments from Attorney General Bill Barr about investigating the origins of the investigation into Russian election interference. “We are not going quietly into the night. Grab your popcorn, Junior Mints or whatever makes you happy,” she said at the top of her open Saturday night.  “The real show is about to begin. This will be true reality TV. No scripts, no rehearsals, just a gang of criminals pointing fingers at each other to save their own hides. A version of true crime and reality show Survivor. The deep state exposed.” “I told you more than a year ago, for the director James Comey was the head of his own crime family,” Pirro continued on. “He ran the upper echelon of the FBI like an organized criminal enterprise.” Pirro accused former FBI Continue reading "Jeanine Pirro Says the ‘Deep State’ is About to Be Exposed: ‘This Will Be True Reality TV’"

President Donald Trump hinted to Fox’s Steve Hilton that he authorized a cyber attack against Russia during the 2018 midterms, saying “the whole thing happened and it happened during my administration.” Hilton was speaking with Trump as part of a full interview to air Sunday night. “It’s been reported this year that you personally authorized a cybe rattack on Russia around the time of the midterms last year in order to stop them meddling in the midterm election,” Hilton asked referring to a report that the Pentagon prepared a cyberattack against Russia. “Well, I’d rather not say that,” Trump said. “But you can believe that the whole thing happened and it happened during my administration.” “But why wouldn’t you talk about that?” Hilton asked. “Well you know intelligence, they say ‘please don’t talk about that,'” Trump said. “But you know sometimes intelligence is good,” Trump continued on. Noting that she is a “pro-life conservative,” CNN’s S.E. Cupp criticized the new wave of laws criminalizing abortion being passed in states like Alabama saying the “Alabama abortion law is the most damaging element to the pro-life movement in decades.” Speaking on the new laws passed this week on her show Unfiltered Saturday, Cupp said: “it is absolutely inhumane to force a woman to carry the child of her rapist or her abuser or her molester relative.” The newly passed laws in Alabama and Missouri ban abortions around six weeks into pregnancy and do not make provisions for women and girls who are victims of incest and rape. Cupp said she believes the laws unnecessarily punish people. “The pro-life position has always been strongest when it comes from a place of compassion and empathy, not indifference and cruelty,” Cupp stressed. She continued on: “You can defend the Continue reading "S.E. Cupp Addresses Fellow Pro-Lifers: ‘You Can Defend the Right to Life’, Without Re-Victimizing Women"

Twitter is having a field day with President Donald Trump‘s reported move to pardon a number of alleged and convicted war criminals. Social media users began sharing the New York Times article that reported Trump had reportedly made the request Friday to begin building pardon files for multiple military service members convicted and accused of crimes like murder. The move to pardon more military service members comes after Trump’s pardon of Michael Behenna, who had been convicted of killing an Iraqi during an interrogation in 2008 before his pardon earlier this week. Here is some of the blue check talk on Twitter:

President Donald Trump is apparently taking actions needed to pardon a number of military service members who have been accused or convicted of war crimes. The New York Times reports Trump has requested “the immediate preparation of paperwork” needed to pardon several American military members, including multiple cases that involve counts of murder and attempted murder. The requests reportedly include requests for Navy SEALs Special Operations Chief Edward Gallagher, who will be standing trial in the coming weeks on charges of shooting unarmed civilians, and former Blackwater security contractor Nicholas Slatten, who was convicted of fatally shooting dozens of unarmed Iraqis in 2o07. According to a senior military official, the White House sent requests on Friday to the Justice Department’s Office of the Pardon Attorney. The DOJ declined to comment on the matter. Trump has wielded pardon power much differently than his predecessors, with many of his pardons Continue reading "Trump Reportedly Plans to Pardon Military Members Accused of War Crimes"

Republican Congressman Justin Amash came out against President Donald Trump and Attorney General Bill Barr in a stunning statement published Saturday, saying he has concluded the president “has engaged in impeachable conduct” after reading special counsel Robert Mueller’s report. “Mueller’s report reveals that President Trump engaged in specific actions and a pattern of behavior that meet the threshold for impeachment,” Amash wrote in a lengthy Twitter thread posted Saturday. The Michigan congressman said he “read Mueller’s redacted report carefully and completely” before coming to multiple conclusions: “1. Attorney General Barr has deliberately misrepresented Mueller’s report. 2. President Trump has engaged in impeachable Continue reading "GOP Congressman: ‘Trump Has Engaged in Impeachable Conduct’"

Dozens of graduates and faculty members walked out during commencement to protest Vice President Mike Pence delivering the commencement address. The Indianapolis Star reports the demonstrators at Indiana’s Taylor University walked out Saturday morning just minutes before the introduction of Pence. In caps and gowns, the students and faculty participating quietly walked down the aisle and out of the auditorium as part of the demonstration that was planned weeks earlier. Most students remained seated for Pence, who received a standing ovation. Graduate Laura Rathburn, who participated in the walkout, said of Pence “I think his presence makes it difficult for everyone at Taylor to feel welcomed.” Pence is the first U.S. executive branch official to speak at the small Christian school of about 2,500 students. About 500 graduated Saturday.

Pence has had a busy commencement schedule in recent weeks.

He spoke last Saturday at another Christian school, Liberty Continue reading "Dozens of Grads, Faculty Walk Out of Commencement to Protest Mike Pence Speaking"

Trump presidential campaign spokeswoman Kayleigh McEnany criticized Alabama’s near total ban on abortion in the state, but didn’t say if President Donald Trump will speak out on the ban. McEnany was speaking on MSNBC’s Weekends With Alex Witt where she was asked about her thoughts on the controversial law that includes no exceptions for rape or incest. “Republican House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy said the lack of exemptions goes against congressional Republicans’ record,” Witt noted. “Do you think Alabama’s ban is a strategic mistake?” “You know, I personally am for the exceptions,” McEnany responded. “The president has been clear since the last campaign he’s for exceptions for rape and incest and life of the mother.” When asked if she knew whether the president planned to speak out against the law, McEnany demurred. “I can’t say what the president plans to do but I will say he’s said repeatedly Continue reading "MSNBC Panel Clashes Over State Abortion Bills: ‘You Lie All the Time!’"

NBC’s Chuck Todd said President Donald Trump is waging a “proxy war against the Russia investigation” with the help of Attorney General Bill Barr. Speaking on MSNBC’s Meet The Press Daily Friday, Todd said Barr’s extensive interview with Fox News’ Bill Hemmer makes it seem “like he’s taking his cues from the president’s talking points which include what the president and his allies have dubbed the ‘dirty dossier.'” “It’s an unusual situation to have opposition research like that, especially one that on its face had a number of clear mistakes … I’m not sure what role it played,” Barr told Hemmer. “Hard not to notice Barr’s loaded language in the clips that we’ve been playing,” Todd contended. “Barr uses that suspicion-breeding style when asked about the [Barack] Obama administration’s actions between the election and the inauguration.” “I think there were some strange developments during that period, Barr told Continue reading "Chuck Todd: Seems Like Bill Barr Is ‘Taking His Cues from the President’s Talking Points’"

The Republican Party has recently accepted nearly $400,000 from disgraced casino mogul Steve Wynn, following accusations he sexually harassed and assaulted employees. Politico reports Wynn gave $248,500 to the Republican National Committee and $150,000 to the National Republican Senatorial Committee in April in donations that the report says will be “disclosed publicly later this month.” Wynn is a longtime donor to GOP causes and is a former party official himself––he resigned as RNC finance chairman in early 2018 around the time he resigned as chairman of Wynn Resorts. He has denied all of the allegations against him. RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel said in a statement to Politico, “Steve has repeatedly and unequivocally denied wrongdoing, and he has not been charged with or found guilty of any crimes. At this point, there is no reason for refusing his support.” The NRSC declined to comment on the donations. CNN’s Brooke Baldwin said Attorney General Bill Barr’s comments about investigating the Russia investigation is “fueling these conspiracy theories” about special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation. Baldwin was previewing a clip from Fox News interview with Barr on CNN Newsroom Friday where Barr talked about a need to investigate the origins of Mueller’s investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election. Barr told Fox’s Bill Hemmer that “people have to find out what the government was doing during that period.” “We should be worried about whether government officials abused think power and put their thumb on the scale,” Barr said. Baldwin commented after showing the clip “you have the attorney general of the United States fueling these conspiracy theories and furthering ‘Spy-gate’ on the president’s favorite network,” referring to Barr giving an exclusive interview to Fox News. President Donald Trump smacked acting White House chief of staff Mick Mulvaney during an interview, saying “he had no right” to contradict him on the administration’s infrastructure plan. Speaking with Fox News’ Steve Hilton in an interview airing Sunday, Trump was asked whether he still wants to pursue a large infrastructure plan with Democrats — even after Mulvaney downplayed the possibility of reaching a deal last month. “I think there’s a much better chance of getting NAFTA passed than getting an infrastructure deal passed,” Mulvaney said last month during a talk at the Milken Institute. “If Mick Mulvaney said that, then he has no right to say that,” Trump told Fox News. “He tells me he didn’t say that and he didn’t mean it. He said it’s going to be hard to finance.” Trump said he still wants a deal on infrastructure, but “I think we’re being played by Continue reading "Trump Slaps Chief of Staff Mulvaney For Contradicting Him: ‘He Had No Right to Say That’"

Fox News anchor Chris Wallace noted Attorney General Bill Barr is apparently acting as a personal advocate for President Donald Trump, and “clearly is protecting this president.” Speaking on America’s Newsroom  and reacting to Bill Hemmer’s interview with Barr Friday, Wallace said it appears Trump now has an attorney general that he believes will act as personal defense for him, contrasting Barr with former attorney general Jeff Sessions.
“What really comes across to me most of all is that for two years Donald Trump sat there and said I don’t have an attorney general. I don’t have somebody out there looking for and protecting my interests. He clearly has that now with Bill Barr,” Wallace said.
“He clearly is protecting this president and advocating his point of view on a lot of these issues,” Wallace noted. In a portion of his interview with Hemmer Friday, Barr took Continue reading "Chris Wallace Says AG Barr is Trump’s New Body Man: ‘He Clearly is Protecting This President’"

Political commentator Ana Navarro says she believes the 2020 field of presidential contenders is “beginning to look like a clown car.” Speaking on The View Friday, Navarro says “I want a Democrat that can beat [President] Donald Trump, and it’s beginning to look like a clown car” to the applause of the audience. “You know, at some point they’re going to get serious. Running for president shouldn’t be able getting a cable gig or selling a book or ending up on Dancing with the Stars,” Navarro said. She then gestured to some laughing audience members and said “You guys laugh, but Rick Perry was on Dancing with the Stars.” Perry, the former GOP presidential candidate and the second contestant eliminated from the dance competition in 2016, is currently Secretary of the Department of Energy in the Trump administration. President Donald Trump is claiming he wasn’t warned that former national security adviser Michael Flynn was under investigation before hiring him, even though then-President Barack Obama reportedly directly warned Trump not to hire Flynn back in 2016. Multiple reports show that Obama stressed to Trump that he believed Trump should not appoint Flynn as a top national security aide. The conversation took place in November 2016, Obama speaking with Trump less than 48 hours after the election. “It’s true President Obama made it known he wasn’t exactly a Continue reading "Trump Asks Why He Wasn’t Warned About Flynn Investigation by Obama Admin (He Was)"

Former Alabama U.S. Senate candidate and alleged sexual harasser Roy Moore may be gearing up another bid for the seat in 2020, according to a new report. The Associated Press reports Moore, a former state judge, is considering a bid to challenge Sen. Doug Jones (D-AL), who is up for re-election to a full 6-year term in the Senate. In 2017, Moore lost in a stunning upset against in deep-red Alabama after he was accused of molesting teenaged girls, including one woman who said Moore sexually assaulted her when she was 14. Moore has denied the allegations. “I’m still praying about it and talking to people, my family, my wife and I’m strongly considering it,” Moore told the Associated Press on Wednesday about his potential bid. Republicans currently control the U.S. Senate 53-47 and view defeating Jones as a top priority, as he is considered one of the Continue reading "Accused Molester Roy Moore Considering Another Run for Senate in Alabama"

According to a financial disclosure form released by the White House, President Donald Trump raked in about $434 million from various businesses and holdings, including $40 million from his D.C. hotel. The disclosure released Thursday shows the president’s prized Mar-a-Lago Club in Palm Beach, Fla., took in nearly $23 million, a drop of more than $2 million from 2017. The Trump International Hotel is located less than a mile away from the White House and a newly-minted magnet for lobbyists and diplomats, generated nearly $41 million, an increase in revenue from the year prior. Trump’s overall income appears to have decreased from last year by about $16 million, when he reported making at least $450 million. While Trump has continually refused to release his tax records, he has been filing the less-specific financial disclosure reports since he began running for president. The reports list revenues rather than profits, Continue reading "Trump Made at Least $434 Million in 2018, Including $40 Million From D.C. Hotel"

The Environmental Protection Agency’s top watchdog is recommending the agency try to regain nearly $124,000 spent by former chief Scott Pruitt on “excessive” and improper travel expenses. The findings were released Tuesday by the EPA’s inspector general. The report comes nearly a year after Pruitt resigned amid controversy over his spending, travel and ties to lobbyists.

Investigators concluded that 40 trips Pruitt either took or scheduled during a 10-month period – between March 1 and Dec. 31, 2017 – cost taxpayers $985,037.

The inspector general’s office identifies a sum of $123,941 for possible recovery. The sum is what taxpayers spent on flying both Pruitt and a security agent in first-class or business class, instead of coach.

Of the more absurd scandals to roil the office included reports that Pruitt made junior staffers pay for his hotels, and then refused to pay them back and even dispatched staffers to fetch Continue reading "EPA Watchdog to Scott Pruitt: You Owe Us $124,000"

Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) simply responded “good” when a bank regulation official in President Donald Trump’s administration complained that her line of questioning during a congressional hearing felt “insulting.” Office of the Comptroller of the Currency chief Joseph Otting was objecting to Warren’s line of questioning concerning his office’s past and current oversight of the bank Wells Fargo during a hearing Wednesday. Warren, a Democratic presidential candidate, asked Otting to commit to “publicly disclosing the OCC’s evaluation of the ‘competence, experience, character, or integrity’ of the next Wells CEO.” Otting refused to do so, saying the information is confidential and “it’s my prerogative.” “Senator Warren no one has been more tougher on Wells Fargo than myself,” Otting insisted. “You mean at the OCC? That’s a low bar,” Warren shot back. “I find that insulting that you would make that comment,” said Otting. Warren responded “Good.” “You Continue reading "Elizabeth Warren Fires Back at Trump Official Calling Her Question Insulting: ‘Good’"
