‘At the Epicenter of Douchedom is a Kobe Slider’: Anthony Bourdain Skewers Food Trends

Anthony Bourdain stopped by The Tonight Show this week, but here’s some of what you didn’t see. In an online-only video, Bourdain talked about some of today’s most popular food trends, including truffle oil, Kobe beef sliders, juice bars, rosé and, of course, avocado toast. As you might expect, he held nothing back. Some of the trends he thinks are totally okay. See: rosé. If it’s summer, and you’re eating a steak, go for it. It’s good. There’s nothing wrong with it. Ultimately, he said, “You can laugh at it, but in the end, you know you want it.” Truffle oil did not get that same treatment. Bourdain called it “about as edible as Astroglide and made with the same stuff.” Kobe beef sliders suffered a similar fate:
“There is no food crime worse. In fact, the very epicenter of douchedom is the Kobe slider. If you see Continue reading "‘At the Epicenter of Douchedom is a Kobe Slider’: Anthony Bourdain Skewers Food Trends"
