Fox News host Neil Cavuto asked failed West Virginia Senate candidate Don Blankenship Tuesday if he is a “sore, bitter loser.” The blunt question came just days after Blankenship, after losing the Republican nomination for U.S. Senate, said he would launch a third-party bid for West Virginia Senate seat, currently occupied by Democratic Sen. Joe Manchin. Blankenship, an ex-convict who spent time in prison for violating federal coal mine safety regulations after a 2010 coal mine explosion that killed 29 people, said his third-party bid is “about the Establishment” because “somebody needs to stand up against them.” “I’ve been so abused by the government and sent to prison as a misdemeanor, I’m very motivated to stand up against this nonsense,” Blankenship said. Cavuto then pointed out to Blankenship that before the Republican primary just two weeks ago, “you were the establishment.” “Now it seems after failing Continue reading "Neil Cavuto Confronts Failed Candidate Don Blankenship on Third-Party Run: ‘You’re Not a Sore, Bitter Loser?’"

Police in Florida have released harrowing bodycam footage of officers responding to gunfire at the Trump National Golf Resort in Doral on Friday. The Washington Post reported that 42-year-old Jonathan Oddi opened fire early Friday morning inside President Donald Trump‘s namesake golf resort. Armed with a handgun, Oddi drew down the American flag from a flagpole outside the building and then draped the banner over a counter in the marble-floored lobby. Oddi then began yelling “anti-Trump, President Trump, rhetoric,” according to Juan Perez, director of Miami-Dade Police. Police said that Oddi pulled the fire alarm in the building “in efforts to cause further confusion,” the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reported. “As he did that, he waited for our police officers. He did begin to shoot inside the lobby, which prompted calls and curiosity from some of the people in the lobby. They were met with an individual with a Continue reading "Trump Doral Golf Resort Shooting Bodycam Footage Released"

Journalists from three news organizations were forced out of an event Tuesday where Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Scott Pruitt was scheduled to speak. Reporters from the Associated Press, CNN, and online environmentally focused outlet E&E News were barred from the event on water contaminants because of what EPA spokesman Jahan Wilcox said was a lack of sufficient space. CNN’s Oliver Darcy reports that the AP reporter was “physically shoved.” “This was simply an issue of the room reaching capacity, which reporters were aware of prior to the event. We were able to accommodate 10 reporters, provided a live stream for those we could not accommodate and were unaware of the individual situation that has been reported,” Wilcox said, according to NBC News. As The Hill reported Tuesday, several seats inside the room from where the reporters had been barred were open, since some reporters who had been invited Continue reading "AP Reporter ‘Physically Shoved’ Out of Event With Embattled EPA Chief Scott Pruitt"

NBA star LeBron James appeared to snub a fan wearing a “Make America Great Again” hat at Game 3 of the NBA playoffs Saturday by beginning to toss his towel to the Trump supporter — before throwing it in another direction, out of the fan’s reach. James, no supporter of President Donald Trump, made clear last year his thoughts on the Republican president, for whom his home state of Ohio voted for in 2016. “I don’t think a lot of people was educated,” James said of Trump voters. “And I think that’s one of the biggest problems when it becomes vote time is that people are just not educated on either the individual or what’s going on… I don’t think a lot of people are educated, and they make choices and say things that’s uneducated,” It doesn’t appear as though James has changed his mind when it comes to Trump. Former White House Press Secretary for President George W. Bush and Fox News co-host Dana Perino said Monday on The Five that former Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton and her team “have a right” to be upset over the way the FBI handled its investigation into possible collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia. “I do think that the Hillary Clinton team has a right to be somewhat mad. Their position is you mean to tell me that the FBI was willing to go out on the record with the director to say that I was being investigated, if I am Hillary Clinton, and meanwhile, they played down New York Times inquiries about the Trump team being under investigation for Russian collusion,” Perino said. Co-host Jesse Watters then said that the FBI “didn’t think Trump was going to win.” Perino was referring to former FBI Director James Comey‘s Continue reading "Fox News’ Dana Perino: Clinton Team Has ‘A Right to Be Somewhat Mad’ at the FBI"

President Donald Trump is reportedly listening to an outside group of advisors regarding how to handle the Justice Department’s refusal to provide unredacted documents to congressional lawmakers. CNN reported Monday that former White House chief strategist Steve Bannon, former Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski, former Trump deputy campaign manager David Bossie, and president of the Trump Hispanic Advisory Council Steve Cortes are all part of the group that is engaged in what one member described as a “concerted effort…to put pressure on [Deputy Attorney General Rod] Rosenstein to comply with [House Select Committee on Intelligence Chairman Devin] Nunes’ information request.” Continue reading "Bannon and Lewandowski Reportedly Persuading Trump to Battle The DOJ"

Trump Invokes National Anthem Controversy at White House NASCAR Event: ‘They Do Indeed Stand’

President Donald Trump dredged up the national anthem controversy Monday during a NASCAR event on the White House South Lawn, praising the thousands of fans who show up at races and who “do indeed stand” for the playing of the Star Spangled Banner. Trump welcomed NASCAR champion Martin Truex Jr. and his team to the White House for what was  — for the most part —  a noncontroversial and nonpartisan event. But Trump, never missing an opportunity to ruffle some feathers, invoked into the celebratory atmosphere an issue that has divided millions of Americans. “Many of you know NASCAR grew from the back roads of America’s south and the bright shores of Daytona Beach to become one of the world’s premier and the most beloved sports… This lively sport reflects our national spirit and our can-do attitude. At every NASCAR race you will see thousands of patriotic Americans from the Continue reading "Trump Invokes National Anthem Controversy at White House NASCAR Event: ‘They Do Indeed Stand’"

GOP Rep. Gaetz: Jeff Sessions Has ‘Stockholm Syndrome’ With ‘His Captors Over There in the Deep State’

Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) said Monday that Attorney General Jeff Sessions has “Stockholm Syndrome” with regard to the “Deep State” because Sessions will not renounce his recusal from the ongoing investigation into possible collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia. Gaetz is one of several Republicans demanding unredacted documents from the Department of Justice, which they say will give them more oversight of the Russia investigation as well as more information as to whether the FBI “spied” on the Trump campaign, as the president has suggested. Gaetz told Fox News’ Harris Faulkner on Outnumbered Overtime that he and other Republican lawmakers are “in groundhog day” with the Department of Justice: “[W]e request documents. They give us too many redactions. We fight with them back and forth.” Gaetz further called on President Donald Trump to declassify the documents. Gaetz added that he wants Sessions to renounce his recusal from the Continue reading "GOP Rep. Gaetz: Jeff Sessions Has ‘Stockholm Syndrome’ With ‘His Captors Over There in the Deep State’"

Conservative Commentator Hugh Hewitt Proposes ‘No More Trench Coats’ After Santa Fe Shooting

Conservative commentator Hugh Hewitt on Monday proposed that schools ban trench coats to help combat potential gun violence in classrooms. Hewitt made the comment Monday on Salem Radio Network’s The Hugh Hewitt Show, just days after a school shooting in Santa Fe, Texas claimed the lives of ten people. The alleged gunman in that massacre was reportedly wearing a trench coat just before he opened fire. Hewitt rightly pointed out on Monday’s program that the gunman reportedly did not use a so-called assault rifle with a high-capacity magazine to make the point that the Left’s calls for gun control would not have had an impact in this particular case. “They are not saying this killer, who we should not name, used shotgun and pistol, not any kind of high-caliber repeating weapon, not a semi-automatic weapon. In many ways, this spanner thrown into their rhetoric of people who believe in Continue reading "Conservative Commentator Hugh Hewitt Proposes ‘No More Trench Coats’ After Santa Fe Shooting"

President Donald Trump on Monday congratulated incoming CIA Director Gina Haspel on her new job, saying “there is no one in this country better qualified,” than Haspel. But, like just anything else Trump says or does, the president put his own personal touch on the ceremony. “We’re here today for the swearing in of a very special person, your new CIA director, someone who has served this agency with extraordinary skill and devotion for 30 years, Gina Haspel. There is no one in this country better qualified for this extraordinary office than you,” Trump said to a room full of U.S. intelligence officials at CIA Headquarters in Langley, Virginia. The president then joked about Haspel’s qualifications, telling the audience to speak up if they did not agree Haspel is the most qualified to lead the CIA: “By the way, if you don’t agree with that, please let me know now Continue reading "Trump Jokes That CIA Director Gina Haspel Might Not Be Qualified at Swearing-In: ‘We’re Keeping Her, Right?’"

Hillary Clinton Takes Heat For Backing Andrew Cuomo For NY Governor Over Female Challenger

“There’s a special place in hell for women who don’t help each other.” That was the message from former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright in 2016 as she campaigned for former Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton. Albright’s comments echoed many of Clinton’s own statements on the campaign trail, which focused on Clinton potentially becoming the first female president. Apparently, though, women should only vote for women if that candidate’s last name is Clinton. The New York Times reported Monday that Clinton will endorse incumbent New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo over Cynthia Nixon, who would be not only New York’s first female governor but also the Empire State’s first openly LGBT governor. This rich piece of irony was not lost on many of Clinton’s critics, who took to Twitter to point out the former Democratic presidential nominee’s perceived hypocrisy. “Hillary must be endorsing Cuomo because her husband is telling her Continue reading "Hillary Clinton Takes Heat For Backing Andrew Cuomo For NY Governor Over Female Challenger"

Former Secretary of State John Kerry trolled President Donald Trump on Sunday while delivering a graduation commencement address in the United Arab Emirates. Speaking before students and faculty at New York University’s Abu Dhabi campus, Kerry, who served as the U.S. chief diplomat under former President Barack Obama, took aim at Trump’s “America First” policies. While journalists showed up to record Kerry’s keynote address, university officials reportedly informed reporters at the last minute that they would not be allowed to film the address, the New York Post reported. “We won’t win, any of us, ultimately, by retreating within our borders, by focusing on our own nations only, or by going it alone,” Kerry said, according to The Hill. The comment came just days after Trump formally withdrew the U.S. from the Iran nuclear deal, which Kerry helped to negotiate during the Obama administration. Kerry also helped negotiate the Continue reading "John Kerry Trolls Trump in Abu Dhabi: ‘We Won’t Win…By Going It Alone’"

Houston Police Chief Art Acevedo on Sunday said that “there will be” a next school shooting if Americans do not “start using the ballot box” to elect officials who support gun control measures. Acevedo made the comment on CBS’ Face the Nation just two days after a school shooting in Santa Fe, Texas claimed the lives of 10 individuals. “We need to start using the ballot box and ballot initiatives to take the matters out of the hands of people that are doing nothing that are elected into the hands of the people to see that the will of the people Continue reading "Houston Police Chief Urges Gun Control Advocates to ‘Start Using the Ballot Box’"

Conservative Commentator Calls Out Jimmy Kimmel For ‘White Privilege’

Campus Reform Editor-in-Chief Lawrence Jones says comedian Jimmy Kimmel is the best example of “white privilege” because he is a rich white man with armed security who advocates for gun control. Jones, who is black, blasted the white host of ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live, on Fox News. “I’ve never seen a better example of white privilege than Jimmy Kimmel. He’s a rich white man that has security but he doesn’t want other Americans to have security as well, have the Second Amendment,” Jones said. Jones added that some cities have “tried” enacting gun control measures, but “it didn’t work.” “We’ve tried it Continue reading "Conservative Commentator Calls Out Jimmy Kimmel For ‘White Privilege’"

Bernie Sanders Loses it on NRA When Asked If Congress Has Done Enough to Stop Mass Shootings: ‘Of Course Not!’

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) answered quite emphatically Sunday when he was asked if the U.S. Senate has done enough to address gun violence. Sanders was responding to NBC’s Chuck Todd on Meet the Press, just two days after the most recent school shooting in Santa Fe, Texas, which claimed the lives of ten individuals. During the interview, Todd played a clip of one Santa Fe survivor saying she expected a shooting at her school. “What does it say that we have high school students that say ‘oh, yeah, I expected this.’ Todd asked Sanders. “It is unspeakable,” Sanders responded. “It really is. To see the kids all over this country who go to a place where they should feel safe, where they can focus on learning are now worried about the things we saw in Texas or in Florida a few months ago.” “Have you guys done Continue reading "Bernie Sanders Loses it on NRA When Asked If Congress Has Done Enough to Stop Mass Shootings: ‘Of Course Not!’"

Incoming NRA Chief Oliver North Blames ‘Ritalin’ and ‘Culture of Violence’ For Mass Shootings

NRA President Oliver North said Sunday, just two days after 10 people were killed at a high school in Santa Fe, Texas, that guns are not the problem. Rather, North said, the issue is a culture of violence where many young boys have “been on Ritalin since they were in kindergarten.” “The disease in this case isn’t the 2nd amendment,” North told Fox News’ Chris Wallace on Fox News Sunday. “The disease is youngsters who are steeped in a culture of violence, they’ve been drugged in many cases.”North, who was named to his position earlier this month, observed that most mass shooters are males who grew up in “a culture where violence is commonplace.” “If you look at what has happened to these young people, many of these young boys have been on Ritalin since they were in kindergarten,” North added. While the shooters in Parkland, Continue reading "Incoming NRA Chief Oliver North Blames ‘Ritalin’ and ‘Culture of Violence’ For Mass Shootings"

Texas Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick pointed to abortion as one of the potential causes for the Santa Fe school shooting on Friday that left 10 people dead. Patrick, a Republican, addressed the latest tragedy Sunday on ABC’s This Week with George Stephanopolous. Patrick suggested that Americans should not be surprised by the taking of innocent life, since “we have devalued life.” “Whether it’s through abortion, whether it’s the break-up of families, through violent movies, and particularly violent video games,” Patrick said, reverting to a familiar Republican talking point. One of the lawsuits filed against Fox News by former cable TV host Andrea Tantaros was dismissed by a federal judge in New York on Friday because there wasn’t enough evidence to support allegations. The Hill reported that Judge George Daniels in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York dismissed 2017 allegations by Tantaros, in which she alleged that Fox News tracked her computer activity by installing malware on her device, wiretapped her communications, and recorded female talent while they undressed. Daniels wrote that those allegations were based upon “speculation” and”conjecture.” “Moreover, she fails to adequately make out the basic elements of her claims,” Daniels wrote, according to the Hill. Tantaros was let go from Fox News in April 2016, three months before former Fox News host Gretchen Carlson leveled bombshell accusations against the network’s chairman, Roger Ailes. In addition to the lawsuit that was dismissed on Friday, Tantaros also filed a sexual harassment lawsuit against Fox News and its Continue reading "Andrea Tantaros’ Lawsuit Against Fox News Dismissed by Federal Judge"
