Short-lived White House communications director Anthony Scaramucci once claimed African Americans like him because he’s “black from the waist down,” according to a new Trump administration tell-all by former aide Cliff Sims. In one book excerpt from Team of Vipers published by the Daily Beast, Scaramucci began riffing with a few cameramen from TV networks after they asked for his picture. At one point during the conversation, Scaramucci “put both hands on his belt buckle, leaned in close to the cameramen—each of whom happened to be African American—and said, ‘Can I tell you guys something? We’ve already hit it off, and I think I know one of the reasons why.’ Mooch paused for a few moments to build the anticipation. ‘It’s ’cause I’m black from the waist down.’” The group responded by laughing “hysterically” and joking that “he’s crazy,” per Sims recollection. In their article, Daily Beast reporters noted Continue reading "Scaramucci Bragged About Being ‘Black From the Waist Down,’ Former Trump Aide Says"

A new portion of former White House communications aide Cliff Sims‘s upcoming memoir suggests that President Donald Trump was just as taken aback as the rest of the country during Anthony Scaramucci‘s brief tenure as White House communications director. Sims has drawn a lot of attention due to media interest in “Team of Vipers,” his upcoming tell-all about his time in the West Wing. The Washington Post obtained an advanced copy of Sims’s autobiography, and one of the portions they highlighted was a chapter which described Scaramucci’s short-lived White House career. Sims characterized the Mooch as “fire-breathing dragon that had just returned from laying waste to the unsuspecting peasants in the village” when describing his effort to smoke out White House leakers. Sims also writes that Scaramucci ordered the White House’s media aides to say they only answer to him and Trump if anyone ever asks them to Continue reading "Fmr. That’s right, THE Anthony Scaramucci is going to be on Celebrity Big Brother. Entertainment Weekly tweeted the news Sunday that the former (and momentary) White House Communications Director will be among the 12 guests in the house on Big Brother: Celebrity Edition when it premiers just over a week from now. It’s not unprecedented. Omarosa Manigault was on the first season of the show. Is it for buzz? Parity? Parody? Or even masochism? The internet sure wants to know, and they’re tweeting about it. Some celebrities have weighed in, of course, including actress Jane Lynch, who also happens to host her own game show featuring celebrities, Hollywood Game Night, had the tweet that perhaps best captured America’s collective Id, an instinctive, primal, gut reaction, not just to this news, but almost all news these last few years. Speaking with CNN’s Chris Cuomo on Friday night, White House Communication Director for a minute Anthony Scaramucci strongly cautioned President Donald Trump not to declare a national emergency to get his wall. Scaramucci started by saying that to do so is “moving into a precedent-breaking standard for future presidents. So, you can be sitting there with a Democratic president that decides to ban all handguns or assault weapons and says, hey, it’s a national emergency.” He added though that as president, Trump probably has the ability to do it. Cuomo then noted he was talking about the possibility of Trump taking money from hard-hit communities to fund the wall in the event a national emergency was declared. He then asked Scaramucci if it was right for Trump to do it. “[I] would very strongly caution him — no, it’s obviously not right to do it,” Scaramucci then replied. “I Continue reading "Scaramucci Cautions Trump Not to Declare Nat’l Emergency Over Wall: ‘It’s Obviously Not Right to Do It’"

On Friday night, Bill Maher shared his thoughts about the bomb scares that targeted high-profile Democrats and CNN and how President Donald Trump handled it. Maher began by accusing the president of “using a domestic terrorist attack to threaten the American media” and read the following tweet to the panel: “That sounds like he’s not condemning the bomber, it sounds to me like he’s partnering with him,” Maher told the panel. Anthony Scaramucci defended the media, pointing to his 11 days working in the White House and how he Continue reading "Maher: Trump Attacking the Media ‘Sounds Like He’s Not Condemning the Bomber’ But ‘Partnering With Him’"

CNN’s John King gave a message directly to the his audience on Tuesday, saying President Donald Trump is counting on them being “stupid” enough to fall for his numerous falsehoods. Tuesday afternoon on Inside Politics, King brought up an MSNBC interview with Anthony Scaramucci this morning to promote his new book. During this interview, the former White House communications director seemed to trivialize Trump’s penchant for lying — saying the president won’t be toppled no matter how many times critics and the media call him out for falsehoods. “When you guys are upset about it and listing all the lies and trying to explain you can’t get a tax cut done in 10 days, people are almost happy about the fact that he is a wrecking ball inside of Washington and smashing into this,” Scaramucci said. “If you want to beat the president, exposing his lies or explaining them Continue reading "CNN’s John King Turns to Camera: ‘The President Thinks You’re Stupid’"

Meghan McCain Calls Out Scaramucci for Trashing John Kelly: ‘You’re Out and He’s Still In’

Anthony Scaramucci has some pretty tough words about the man who fired him. In an interview yesterday, the Mooch slammed White House Chief of Staff John Kelly and said that he has “hissy fits.” He also accused Kelly of hurting President Donald Trump and overall White House morale. On The View this morning, Abby Huntsman brought up his criticisms of Kelly before Scaramucci said, “At some point he’ll eventually leave the White House.” “Trump?” Joy Behar asked to laughter and applause. Scaramucci continued on to say of Kelly, “I think he’s hurt the morale. People say, ‘okay, it’s personal,’ ’cause he fired me. It’s not personal. I’ve been fired before.” “It’s just observational,” he said. “[Kelly] doesn’t have the personality skillset for that job. I applaud his service to the country, 40 years in the Marine Corps, he has the personality and skillset for that job…” Continue reading "Meghan McCain Calls Out Scaramucci for Trashing John Kelly: ‘You’re Out and He’s Still In’"

Scaramucci Says John McCain Was a Role Model: ‘When I Have Rough Moments, I Think About Him’

Former short-lived White House comms director and current Trump-insider Anthony Scaramucci had nothing but praise for the late Senator John McCain this morning when he appeared on MediaBuzz to discuss the news with Fox’s Howard Kurtz. “President Trump and John McCain obviously had a very contentious relationship,” said Kurtz in an opening understatement. “But let’s put that aside on this day. McCain’s style, I was talking about a moment ago, working with Democrats, sometimes taking on Republicans including George W. Bush, having these shifting alliances — is that now a vestige of a bygone era because things are so brutally partisan, polarized?” “I certainly hope not, Howie,” Scaramucci replied. “At the end of the day we have to come back to that.” McCain’s bipartisan ways are the chief complaint of those who support President Trump and bashed John McCain. Scaramucci is saying that rather than hating the Senator Continue reading "Scaramucci Says John McCain Was a Role Model: ‘When I Have Rough Moments, I Think About Him’"

Anthony Scaramucci: Trump Would Politically Have ‘A Nightmare on His Hands’ If He Fired Sessions

Former White House communications director Anthony Scaramucci said on CNN this afternoon President Donald Trump should be more careful in not lashing out about people in his orbit he’s frustrated by. Anchor Ana Cabrera noted how bad a week people are saying Trump had, and Scaramucci agreed “it was a very bad week.” He said it’s been “an emotionally tolling week for the president, because these are very close friends” who are either flipping on him or being given immunity. Scaramucci made it clear he doesn’t see any Trump illegality in any of the news this week, saying that the comments Trump made to Fox & Friends––especially on the issue of flipping––were made in “frustration.” Cabrera asked about the loyalty issue with Trump and the people turning on him. Scaramucci said, “I think what happens if you get on the wrong side of the president he’ll light Continue reading "Anthony Scaramucci: Trump Would Politically Have ‘A Nightmare on His Hands’ If He Fired Sessions"

Reality star turned Trump White House staffer Omarosa Manigault-Newman has promised her new book, UNHINGED, will offer a candid account of what really went on when she was at the White House. Those juicy details include, it seems, her telling of her role in a war against White House leakers that appear to have been led, at least for the less than two weeks that he was there, by short-lived Communication Director Anthony Scaramucci. In a page of her new book obtained by The Daily Beast, Manigualt-Newman describes how she, First Daughter Ivanka Trump, and Scaramucci were all involved in the purge of leakers. “Along with his comms directorship, Scaramucci had a secondary job. He was apparently the hired hit man,” Manigault writes in the excerpt. Manigault continues on: “Very low-key, Ivanka [Trump] went around to the original Trumpers, the loyal soldiers, and asked the team to Continue reading "Omarosa’s New Book Reportedly Claims Ivanka Trump Demanded List of White House ‘Leakers’"

Anthony Scaramucci came to CNN reporter Jim Acosta’s defense after he was faced by hecklers at the Trump rally in Tampa, Florida. Acosta was reporting live from the rally, but was disrupted by the overwhelming “CNN sucks!” chants from Trump supporters. He later took to Twitter and shared a clip of a shot his camera took of the animated crowd. “Just a sample of the sad scene we faced at the Trump rally in Tampa,” Acosta tweeted. “I’m very worried that the hostility whipped up by Trump and Continue reading "Anthony Scaramucci Defends Jim Acosta From Heckling Trump Supporters: ‘This Isn’t Our Best’"

Anthony Scaramucci slammed the White House’s decision to choke press freedoms and bar CNN reporter Kaitlan Collins from a Rose Garden press conference last week, calling it unhelpful to President Donald Trump and just plain wrong. “I don’t know this for a fact, but that probably came from the president,” Scaramucci told Jake Tapper in an interview Sunday. “He likes to be respected. He was probably frustrated at that moment. What I would do in a situation like that is I’d pull a tape of questions that Sam Donaldson screamed at Ronald Reagan and go right through the last 30 years of pool reporters asking questions that presidents probably think are obnoxious or untoward or disrespectful questions and just point out that she was doing her job.” Scaramucci, whose White House tenure famously lasted less than two weeks, recommended Collins be taken “out of the penalty box,” adding that Continue reading "Scaramucci Slams WH Barring Kaitlan Collins: 1st Amendment Gives Reporters the Right to Ask Questions"

Anthony Scaramucci: Dems Are Using Tactics ‘Right Out of Joseph Goebbels’ Playbook’

Former White House communications director Anthony Scaramucci is accusing Democrats of using Nazi tactics in their opposition of the Trump administration. Appearing Monday on Fox & Friends, Scaramucci referenced protestors who gathered outside the home of White House adviser Stephen Miller, and said that Democrats are seeking to “dehumanize” their political opponents. “The real irony is [Democrats] accuse the president of fascism, or somebody like Steve Miller [of] fascism, but the tactics they’re deploying are right out of Joseph Goebbels‘ playbook,” Scaramucci said. “You dehumanize your enemy, you disfigure your enemy, and then you create a mob support mass protest.” Scaramucci added, “Rather than arguing on policy, the merits of a debating point, they’re going full bore on the ad hominem attacks. And that turns people off.” The former White House communications director was asked how he’d handle being confronted in a restaurant in a Continue reading "Anthony Scaramucci: Dems Are Using Tactics ‘Right Out of Joseph Goebbels’ Playbook’"

CNN’s Burnett Presses Scaramucci on Trump’s Feud With Maxine Waters: ‘You Don’t See That as a Threat?’

CNN’s Erin Burnett raked Anthony Scaramucci across the coals on Monday over the feud between President Donald Trump and Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) — as well as the overall decline of civility in America. The ex-White House communications director said he regrets the increased partisan hostilities across the country as of late, but said the president probably won’t ever change the way he fights his battles, and Waters is creating more public anger while refusing to be held accountable. Burnett noted that the outrage comes from both sides, noting that Trump called Waters an “extraordinary low IQ person,” claimed she threatened harm on his supporters, and then made implicit threats against the congresswoman. “Are you willing to call the president out and say that’s not acceptable?” Burnett asked. The Mooch partially acquiesced. But Burnett continued to question him when he tried to rationalize Trump’s tweet by saying he’s trying Continue reading "CNN’s Burnett Presses Scaramucci on Trump’s Feud With Maxine Waters: ‘You Don’t See That as a Threat?’"

Anthony Scaramucci Rips ‘Atrocious’ Border Separation Policy: ‘We All Know’ Trump Can Change It

Anthony Scaramucci appeared on CNN Monday morning and gave a candid interview in which he bashed the Trump administration policy of separating child migrants from their families at the U.S. southern border. Scaramucci, a Trump adviser who served briefly as White House communications director, kicked off the interview on New Day by saying: “I think the president should stop it.” “Aside from which it’s inhumane and its cruel, I think he needs to step back, stop listening his aides and his advisers,” Scaramucci said, likely referring to White House immigration hardliners Stephen Miller and John Kelly. “He’s got to step in there and end this thing because I think it’s an atrocious policy, it’s inhumane, it’s offensive to the average American,” Scaramucci continued. “It does not represent American values.” Scaramucci went on to argue that the optics of the policy aren’t good for Republican chances in the Continue reading "Anthony Scaramucci Rips ‘Atrocious’ Border Separation Policy: ‘We All Know’ Trump Can Change It"

Anthony Scaramucci, Michael Avenatti Make Their Big TV Debut Together on The Late Show

Stephen Colbert had perhaps a new dynamic duo on his show Wednesday night: Anthony Scaramucci and Michael Avenatti. It was reported last month that the two men were shopping around a show in which they would debate current events. “What is this?” Colbert asked. “And my followup is. ‘Why is this?’ Why are the two of you a team now?” Both Scaramucci and Avenatti responded by saying they “didn’t know” they were a “team.” While the Stormy Daniels lawyer jokingly denied associating himself with “The Mooch,” Scaramucci thought their should would be a “male-version” of Thelma & Louise. “Well, this administration is certainly driving the country off a cliff right now,” Colbert quipped. When asked how the two know each other, Scaramucci explained that they were introduced by a “mutual friend,” who they clarified wasn’t President Trump nor Stormy Daniels. They then tackled various topics, including Continue reading "Anthony Scaramucci, Michael Avenatti Make Their Big TV Debut Together on The Late Show"

Remember those reports about a potential Anthony ScaramucciMichael Avenatti TV show? Well, now they actually will be appearing on TV together. Sort of. A few weeks ago, the New York Times reported that CNN and MSNBC had been approached with this idea: a show with both Stormy Daniels‘ lawyer and the former White House communications director. Would that actually happen? Who knows anymore. But last night Stephen Colbert revealed that they will be on together next Wednesday. “They want to have their own show,” Colbert said. “They want to have like an Avenatti-Mooch show. I don’t know who’s gonna do that show. We don’t know. So it’s gonna be us next week.” As The Hill‘s Judy Kurtz reported, Scaramucci recently said of Continue reading "Anthony Scaramucci and Michael Avenatti Make Their TV Debut Together… On Colbert"

Meghan McCain Smacks Scaramucci for Defending Aide Who Insulted Her Father: ‘This is Such Bad Spin’

Meghan McCain went after Anthony Scaramucci on Thursday for defending the former White House aide who made flippant remarks about her father because he’s dying of brain cancer. Earlier this week, the Mooch spoke to CNN’s Chris Cuomo and bemoaned the fact that Kelly Sadler was fired because of White House internal squabbles. The former White House Communications Director called Sadler “a world-class person” even as he acknowledged her insulting comments on Sen. John McCain (R-AZ), whom Scaramucci also praised as a “true American hero.”
