Family Guy Assembles Weinstein, Cosby, Lauer, and Others in ‘Marvel’s The Offenders’

Family Guy took a moment in Sunday night’s episode to mock several of the high-profile figures who’ve been swept up by the #MeToo movement. The scene is presented as a fictional show being watched by Family Guy protagonist Peter Griffin and the gang at their usual hangout The Drunken Clam. The television announcer tells the viewers, “We now return to Marvel’s The Offenders.” It then cuts to a board room meeting led by Bill Cosby, wearing the iconic Nick Fury eyepatch. Cosby then introduces everyone at the table: Kevin Spacey, Roman Polanski, Woody AllenSteven Segal, Matt Lauer, Brett Ratner, “lesser known offender” James Toback. Then a monstrous Hulk-like voice is heard from behind. “Don’t forget me!” The voice belonged to Harvey Weinstein, who stomped in wearing nothing but a bathrobe. “Harvey shower!” he grumbled. Then Woody Allen raised Continue reading "Family Guy Assembles Weinstein, Cosby, Lauer, and Others in ‘Marvel’s The Offenders’"

Kathie Lee Gifford Defends Weinstein, Cosby: ‘Being a Jerk Isn’t the Same as Being a Rapist’

Kathie Lee Gifford expressed support for Bill Cosby and Harvey Weinstein — two alleged sexual assaulters she described as friends, despite dozens of credible accusations against each of them — in a Tuesday interview on Andy Cohen’s SiriusXM pop culture show, Radio Andy. The daytime television personality, who co-hosts the 10 AM hour of Today, said she suffered multiple experiences of sexual abuse throughout her life, while simultaneously defending the two embattled men at the epicenter of the Me Too movement. “You can’t call yourself a friend when the first minute where there’s trouble, you run,” Gifford said. “I am not saying that kind of behavior is in any way acceptable — it isn’t and it’s horrible, as a woman who experienced it, it’s awful — but can we at least look at every individual case and see it for what it is and be merciful to people who Continue reading "Kathie Lee Gifford Defends Weinstein, Cosby: ‘Being a Jerk Isn’t the Same as Being a Rapist’"

Bill Cosby Does First Show Since 2015 Sexual Abuse Scandal: ‘I Used To Be a Comedian’

Let’s do some non-political news, shall we? Bill Cosby has mostly stayed out of the spotlight for the past 3 years, due to his ongoing legal troubles for his alleged sexual abuse against dozens of women. The disgraced comedian, however, appeared in Philadelphia Monday night and gave a special performance during a concert in Philadelphia in honor of jazz musician Tony Williams. Cosby reportedly got a warm reception from the crowd as he took an hour to tell stories about his family, salute old friends, and jam with the jazz band for a set. After he got up from the drum kit and handed off the sticks to the Continue reading "Bill Cosby Does First Show Since 2015 Sexual Abuse Scandal: ‘I Used To Be a Comedian’"

Twitter Trashes Chris Matthews Over ‘Cosby Pill’ Joke: ‘Makes Me Feel Ill’

The leaked clip of Chris Matthews joking about a “Bill Cosby pill” ahead of a Hillary Clinton interview has gotten widespread condemnation on Twitter. Some people who have worked on the Clinton team were appalled: And the rest of Twitter was pretty condemnatory too:

Off-Air Footage Shows Chris Matthews Joking About ‘Cosby Pills’ Before Interviewing Hillary Clinton

Stunning footage has surfaced of MSNBC’s Chris Matthews that appears to show him asking for a “Bill Cosby pill” before interviewing Hillary Clinton. The footage, unearthed by The Cut, shows Matthews preparing to interview Clinton during the presidential campaign in late 2016. “Can I have some of the queen’s waters? Precious waters?” he innocently jokes, before diving in. “Where’s that Bill Cosby pill I brought with me?” The footage ends with Matthews looking pleased with the witticism he unleashed on his staff. Cosby, you may remember, has been accused of sexual assault by dozens of women. The MSNBC anchor has apologized for making the crude joke, placing some of the blame on the “Cosby-fever” that was sweeping the nation way back in 2016. “This was a terrible comment I made in poor taste during the height of the Bill Cosby headlines,” Matthews said. “I realize that’s Continue reading "Off-Air Footage Shows Chris Matthews Joking About ‘Cosby Pills’ Before Interviewing Hillary Clinton"

Shonda Rhimes Mocks Cosby’s Sexual Assault Seminars: ‘1) Do Not Sexually Assault Anyone’

As if the mistrial and jury deadlock in Bill Cosby’s sexual assault case weren’t puzzling and upsetting enough, after, for the time being, evading a conviction, Cosby went on to announce that he would be teaching classes about how to avoid being accused of sexual assault. In response to this news, Shonda Rhimes, the brains behind some of the decade’s most popular TV shows, took to Twitter to offer her own master class on how to avoid being accused. “From Shonda’s Town Hall on Avoiding Sexual Assault Charges: 1) Do not sexually assault anyone. 2) Shut up-this attention belongs to survivors,” Rhimes wrote. And well, that pretty much sums it up. Rhimes’ tweet might have been meant as a direct response to Continue reading "Shonda Rhimes Mocks Cosby’s Sexual Assault Seminars: ‘1) Do Not Sexually Assault Anyone’"
