It’s ‘Just Criminal’: Jerrod Carmichael Upset Over NBC Pulling Mass Shooting Episode of His Show

Jerrod Carmichael expressed his frustrations over NBC’s decision to pull an episode of The Carmichael Show from the air in the wake of the GOP and the San Francisco shootings that occurred this week. If you aren’t familiar with The Carmichael Show, it’s a multi-camera family sitcom in the middle of its third season that often tackles taboo subjects in the spirit of All in the Family. The episode that was supposed to air Wednesday night, just hours after a political terrorist shot Rep. Steve Scalise (R-LA) and four others, focused on the main character (played by Carmichael) surviving a mass shooting. Carmichael, who is also the executive producer of the show, sat down with Chelsea Handler on Wednesday and discussed how he felt about it all. “I thought that tonight’s episode would have an opportunity to talk about these tragedies in a meaningful way,” he said. Carmichael elaborated, Continue reading "It’s ‘Just Criminal’: Jerrod Carmichael Upset Over NBC Pulling Mass Shooting Episode of His Show"

Don Lemon Says Conway Deserved Anderson Cooper’s Eye Roll: ‘It Was What Everybody Was Thinking’

Last month, you may remember the kerfuffle that developed in the wake of CNN anchor Anderson Cooper’s infamous eye roll during an interview with White House counselor Kellyanne Conway. In the days following Cooper’s gesture, Conway claimed it exhibited “sexism” and anti-Trumpism while Fox News hosts mocked Cooper, saying it looked like he “sprained his face.” More than a month after the fact, Cooper’s colleague Don Lemon was asked about it during an appearance on Netflix’s Chelsea. After host Chelsea Handler played a still frame from the interview, Lemon defended his fellow anchor. “Don’t you think he sort of — it was what everybody was thinking?” Lemon said. Handler jumped in, stating she understood why he rolled his eyes but wondering aloud why Cooper didn’t do that “six months ago.” “You have to have a poker face,” Lemon noted. “Because you know — you know when people Continue reading "Don Lemon Says Conway Deserved Anderson Cooper’s Eye Roll: ‘It Was What Everybody Was Thinking’"

‘Tell That F*cking A**hole!’ Chelsea Handler Rips ‘Puppet’ Ivanka Trump for Lacking Influence With Her Dad

Ivanka Trump was unable to talk her father, President Donald Trump, out of withdrawing the U.S. from the Paris Climate Accord. Chelsea Handler thinks that isn’t just a one-time occurrence, but part of a larger pattern. Speaking with Sarah Silverman and Planned Parenthood president Cecile Richards, Handler blasted the first daughter for not calling her father out on his handling of women’s rights issues. “I’m like, You need to tell that f*cking a**hole ‘This is an unacceptable way to treat women. We’re moving backwards!'” Handler said. Silverman brought up a direct message she sent to Ivanka, in which she implored the first daughter to exert her influence. But Handler doesn’t seem to think Ivanka has any. “I always say this. Why isn’t she doing more?” Handler said. “And my friends are like, ‘She has no control. She’s just another puppet circling around him.'” Continue reading "‘Tell That F*cking A**hole!’ Chelsea Handler Rips ‘Puppet’ Ivanka Trump for Lacking Influence With Her Dad"

In One Tweet, Chelsea Handler Offered The Most Brutal Roger Ailes Burn Yet

Former Fox News chairman Roger Ailes died yesterday and the Internet made quick work of memorializing him. Some people were kinder than others. There were on-air tributes and in-writing take-downs. A few tweets really encapsulated the moment’s emotions… …but none quite like this one from comedian Chelsea Handler: Graphic? Yes. Point made? Yes. Ailes was known not only for being the force behind Fox News, but for how he left it. Last summer, mounting allegations of sexual harassment against female employees pushed him out the door and into a strange existence composed of equal parts infamy and obscurity. ‘A Very Good Drug Addict’: Watch Chelsea Handler Struggle to Say Nice Things About Charlie Sheen, Others

Chelsea Handler is best known as a talk show host, but this week she’s switching roles and has become the guest on the newest episode of truTV’s Talk Show the Game Show. In a preview clip for this week’s episode, host Guy Branum notes that Handler has “made a career out of taking down pop culture icons,” and so he challenges her to do the impossible: Be nice. In the game, “One Nice Thing,” Handler has to say one nice thing about a bunch of different celebrities. She’ll be judged on her sincerity, creativity, and clarity of diction. As you might guess, the “niceness” of the things she says is debatable. When prompted with a photo of Taylor Swift, she says “Taylor Swift is a very tall, lean singer.” True. For Lisa Rinna, she says, “She’s married to Harry Hamlin for a long time so they’re in love. Chelsea Handler Won’t Have Melania Trump on Her Show Because ‘She Can Barely Speak English’

After leading a Women’s March during the Sundance Film Festival, talkshow host Chelsea Handler sat down with Variety‘s Elizabeth Wagmeister for an interview. During the chat, she was asked if she would ever interview Donald Trump. She’s already told other outlets she would never do that, but this time, the follow-up question was whether she’d ever consider Melania Trump. “Melania? To talk about what? She can barely speak English,” she quipped. Wagmeister then asked what Handler thinks of the model as First Lady. Handler responded, “xactly what I think about him as the First Man. Nothing. I don’t respect either one of those people.” Watch above, via Variety. [image: screengrab] Lindsey: Twitter. Facebook.

‘We Have To Hold Him Accountable’: Chelsea Hander Talks ‘Anti-Trump’ Vibe Of Her Show

Screen Shot 2017-01-17 at 12.03.50 PMIn a new interview with VarietyChelsea Handler talked about — what else? — Donald Trump. She, like so many celebrities, said she would flee after his election, but stayed when her staff greeted her with hugs in the days following the election and told her that she is their “mouthpiece” and outlet. Her show, which streams on Netflix, took a decidedly anti-Trump turn and she has no regrets. “We have more of an impact being on Netflix than I would have had on another network, because we have a huge international audience,” she explained. “It’s nice to be able to let them know that just because this man is our president, this is not a representation of everybody in our country. It’s a representation of less than half the people.” When it comes to representation, Handler and her Chelsea staff know what they’re doing. They’ve used their Continue reading "‘We Have To Hold Him Accountable’: Chelsea Hander Talks ‘Anti-Trump’ Vibe Of Her Show"
