Fox & Friends Warns 2020 Democrats: You’re ‘Not Smart’ If You Don’t Come on Fox

Fox & Friends took something of a victory lap on Wednesday, in light of 2020 Democrats warming to the idea of following Bernie Sanders‘ example of going on Fox News for a town hall. Fox News scored big ratings from their town hall event with Sanders this week, and in return, the Independent Vermont senator bolstered his status as a frontrunner among candidates pursuing the 2020 Democratic nomination. Meanwhile, recent reports suggest that candidates like Pete Buttigieg, Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA), and Rep. Tim Ryan (D-OH) are expressing interest in having their own events with Fox as well. While Fox & Friends noted that Donald Trump wasn’t pleased with Sanders’ appearance on his favorite network, Brian Kilmeade said “you should be able to put candidates everywhere,” noting that the president used to go on CNN and MSNBC before they “went unhinged and wasn’t giving him a fair shot. A Fox & Friends diner interview went way off book Tuesday, as a restaurant patron issued a dire warning on climate change. At a diner in Bethlehem, PA, Fox’s Todd Piro caught up with man he identified as Seth and his daughter, Kristen. And Kristen had some thoughts on the subject of climate change. “When you’re talking to your friends about an issue, the number one issue that you guys focus on is climate change,” Piro said. “Why?” Piro set Kristen up with a big fat pitch right down the heart of the plate. And Kristen knocked it right out of the park. “Ultimately, the other issues are all solvable,” Kristen said. “But if the planet starts catching on fire and we’re all dead, it doesn’t do us any good to see how much money we can make.” Now that is not a take you hear from a Continue reading "Fox & Friends Diner Brings the Sunshine With Dire Warning on Climate Change: ‘If the Planet Starts Catching On Fire and We’re All Dead…’"

Anthony Scaramucci took a swing at the White House press corps on Friday during his appearance on Fox & Friends in front of a live studio audience.

When the 10-day White House communications director received applause as joined his hosts on the curvy couch, Fox News host Steve Doocy asked if this reminded him at all of fielding questions from the James S. Brady Press Briefing Room.

“Yes,” the Mooch answered. “They look a little less drunk than the White House press corp, but they look very friendly.”

Rep. Ilhan Omar Decries ‘Dangerous Incitement’ From Fox & Friends After Death Threats Against Her

Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MI) pushed back hard on recent criticisms she has received over language she used to describe the events of 9/11. Omar drew criticism from Republicans and conservative media due to her description of the terror attacks while she was giving a speech to the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) last month. Omar said:
“Far too long we have lived with the discomfort of being a second class citizen. And frankly, I’m tired of it. And every single Muslim in this country should be tired of it. CAIR was founded after 9/11 because they recognized that some people did something, and that all of us were starting to lose access to our civil liberties.”
A full viewing of Omar’s speech shows that the balance of her speech made repeated references to the fear and hatred that Muslim Americans face today. She spoke about

Fox & Friends Contradicts Fox News Research on Trump’s Child Separation Policy

Fox & Friends parroted the words of President Donald Trump Wednesday morning on the issue of the draconian policy of separating children from parents detained at the US. Southern border. Fox & Friends producers aired a clip from a Tuesday afternoon press scrum in the Oval Office with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, in which President Trump reiterated his position on child separation. The commander in chief said “I’m the one that stopped it president Obama had child separation,” before adding that “once you don’t have it, that’s why you see many more people coming. They are coming like it’s a picnic because let’s go to Disney land.” He finished with “President Obama separated children. They had child separation. I was the one that changed it.” Coming out of the clip, Ainsley Earhardt agreed, saying “He did. He signed an executive order last June ending the separations. Fox & Friends Host Asks Mike Pompeo if He Was Victim of ‘Bullying’ After Group Rescinded Award

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo was set to receive a humanitarian award for his efforts to free political prisoners. Instead, the award was rescinded. And one Fox & Friends host suggested Friday that it may have been an act of bullying. In an interview with Pompeo, Fox’s Ainsley Earhardt (in a moment flagged by Bobby Lewis of Media Matters) asked the secretary about the James W. Foley Legacy Foundation’s decision to pull the award. “You got this award, it was the James W. Foley Legacy Foundation Award, for freeing these hostages. And then they decided to revoke the award,” Earhardt said. “Is that bullying? How’d you feel about that?” Pompeo claimed that pressure from “media partners” caused the foundation to pull the award — a claim put forth by the Washington Examiner’s Paul Bedard, who cited sources saying keynote speaker Christiane Amanpour of CNN was among those who Continue reading "Fox & Friends Host Asks Mike Pompeo if He Was Victim of ‘Bullying’ After Group Rescinded Award"

King Trump? Fox & Friends Host Refers to Trump’s Presidency as ‘His Reign’

Fox & Friends host Brian Kilmeade made a telling slip when he referred to the presidency of Donald Trump as “his reign,” while also falsely claiming that Trump’s border wall has begun to be built. At the end of an interview with White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders on Thursday morning’s edition of Trump’s favorite morning show, Kilmeade concluded by noting that Trump “will be at the border tomorrow, looking at beginning of the wall that was built under his reign.” Co-hosts Steve Doocy and Ainsley Earhardt then bowed their heads and intoned “Under his eye.” (not really) Kilmeade’s claim about Trump’s border wall is false, Trump will actually be looking at replacement barrier that carries a plaque incorrectly identifying it as “the first section of President Trump’s border wall.” Kilmeade’s rhetorical elevation of Trump to monarch status is something of Continue reading "King Trump? Diner Stuns Fox & Friends Reporter By Supporting Higher Taxes to Address Climate Change

A patron interviewed as part of Fox & Friends‘ recurring diner segments stunned his interviewer when he called for taxes to be raised in order to fight off the “devastating” consequences of climate change. Fox & Friends correspondent Todd Piro interviewed Jack, an info specialist at a diner in Riverside, Missouri, who said he supports the Green New Deal proposed by Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY). “It’s really important we keep below 2 degrees Celsius of average warming, otherwise the consequences are going to be devastating,” Jack said. “How do we pay for it?” Piro asked. “How did we pay for World War II?” Jack shot back. “At the end of the day when something is this important, our economy is going to suffer if we don’t pay for it.” Piro pressed Jack on whether he believed climate change is “as big a deal” as the Continue reading "Diner Stuns Fox & Friends Reporter By Supporting Higher Taxes to Address Climate Change"

Kilmeade Complains About ‘Illegals’ Who ‘Don’t Speak English’ Being Dumped in ‘Working Class’ Schools

Fox News host Brian Kilmeade gave voice to his audience’s anxieties when he complained out loud about “illegals” who are being “dump(ed)” in “working class” areas, resulting in schools with many “extra kids who don’t speak English.” On Wednesday morning’s edition of Fox & Friends, Kilmeade had some revealing observations to make after some clips of a former MS-13 gang member named Casey Diaz, who was a guest on Laura Ingraham‘s show. He claimed that there are “a lot of gangs” trying to enter the country in caravans. According to Trump administration data, 0.3 percent of border crossers were gang members in 2018. “By the way, it’s not just border cities, Ainsley,” Kilmeade said. “They dump these illegals in areas, and President Obama did it with those unaccompanied minors, in working class areas without telling mayors or governors.” “Next thing you know, you’re Continue reading "Kilmeade Complains About ‘Illegals’ Who ‘Don’t Speak English’ Being Dumped in ‘Working Class’ Schools"

Fox News Host Says Trump Will Get More Popular Because John McCain is ‘Sadly … Gone’

Fox & Friends host Brian Kilmeade made a ghoulish observation when he said that Donald Trump‘s approval would be “formidable” going into 2020 because people like Jeff Flake and the late Senator John McCain “are basically gone.” On Tuesday morning’s edition of Trump’s favorite morning show, co-host Steve Doocy played a clip of Democratic National Committee Chairman Tom Perez calling Republicans “cowards” for refusing to stand up to Trump:

Kilmeade responded to the clip by saying that he likes Trump’s chances in 2020 precisely because Republicans don’t push back against him. “The president’s got really solid support among Republicans, and in terms of his approval rating, it’s around 43 percent,” Kilmeade said. “With this Mueller thing behind him, after those 300 pages are out, I imagine it’s going to go up even more.” “Barring anything unforeseeable, which happens every day, something unforeseeable, but let’s say things don’t Continue reading "Fox News Host Says Trump Will Get More Popular Because John McCain is ‘Sadly … Gone’"

Trump and Fox & Friends Float Opposition to Mueller Report Release

President Donald Trump speaks to supporters during a rally at the Van Andel Arena on March 28, 2019 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Making a 180 in politics isn’t done all at once. You have to lay groundwork, make partial turns, and then pretend to “end up” in reverse. It can’t seem like it was planned. And before you even lay the groundwork, you float a trial balloon. That’s what it looks like the President and his pals at Fox & Friends are doing on Tuesday as they push back against the Democrats’ demands regarding release of the Mueller report. To be clear, some Republicans have already strongly opposed releasing the report. In fact some were ready to burn it before Barr even summarized it. But the path to changing the argument for your entire political party requires smaller steps. On Fox & Friends on Tuesday, the topic of the report came up several times. In each case, the hosts and guests objected to the Democrats, particularly committee chair Rep. Jerry Nadler (D-NY), Continue reading "Trump and Fox & Friends Float Opposition to Mueller Report Release"

Brian Kilmeade Snipes at Howard Schultz For Saying Fox & Friends Represents ‘Republican Viewers’

Things got tense for the hosts of Fox & Friends on Tuesday when former Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz gave them an interview where insinuated that the show takes a biased perspective to appease its audience. Schultz was on to talk about his possible independent run for president and his disagreements with fellow Democrats pursuing the Oval Office. As he outlined his vision for the country and his distaste for America’s two-party political system, Schultz took his first swipe at Fox & Friends when he called his hosts “strong proponents of the president,” most likely a reference to how the show frequently carries President Donald Trump‘s water and puts on programming he approves of. After Schultz fielded questions about illegal immigration and the inaction caused by political gridlock, the conversation moved on to economic topics like taxation on the wealthy and fiscal responsibility. After Schultz commented that “your Republican viewers” Continue reading "Brian Kilmeade Snipes at Howard Schultz For Saying Fox & Friends Represents ‘Republican Viewers’"

Lara Logan on Fox News: Media Matters is the ‘Most Powerful Propaganda Organization in This Country’

Former CBS correspondent Lara Logan appeared on Fox & Friends Tuesday morning, where she called liberal watchdog group Media Matters “the most powerful propaganda organization in this country.” Logan was on to discuss the media’s coverage of the Russia investigation, which she described as “indicative of the organized propaganda that was behind all of this.” When the hosts of Fox & Friends read out a Vox interview with Matt Taibbi, who also criticized the Russia coverage, Logan replied: “that in itself is a form of propaganda.” Then, unprompted, Logan embarked on a tirade against Media Matters: Media Matters “is the most powerful propaganda organization in this country,” Logan said. “And they describe themselves as a propaganda organization, that’s what they do. They pretend they’re about good journalism, but there’s no propaganda operation that’s looking for good journalism. They’re pushing their agenda. And one of the main Continue reading "Lara Logan on Fox News: Media Matters is the ‘Most Powerful Propaganda Organization in This Country’"

CNN’s Oliver Darcy Slams Fox & Friends Chyron Flub: They Just Aren’t ‘Tethered’ to ‘Reality, to The Facts’

CNN Senior Media Reporter Oliver Darcy slammed Fox News on Sunday for the “sloppy” work he says is so representative of “the whole Fox & Friends show.” Earlier on Sunday, Fox News made a chyron blunder. During a report on securing America’s border, the chyron read: “TRUMP CUTS US AID TO 3 MEXICAN COUNTRIES.” It was speaking, of course, to the fact that Trump moved this weekend to cut aid to El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras.

Fox’s Ed Henry later apologized for the error. Yet, according to Darcy, the screw-up speaks volumes about Fox & Friends. “I think what’s so striking about this, it’s just so sloppy,” he told CNN’s Ana Cabrera. He continued on: “And it is kind of representative of the whole Fox & Friends show, right? They’re not tethered really a lot of times to reality, to the facts. And this is where the president Continue reading "CNN’s Oliver Darcy Slams Fox & Friends Chyron Flub: They Just Aren’t ‘Tethered’ to ‘Reality, to The Facts’"

CNN’s Brian Stelter ROASTS Fox News: ‘I Don’t Know What’s Going on Over There’

CNN host Brian Stelter lit into Fox News over a series of missteps — including the Fox & Friends banner that proclaimed Donald Trump had cut off aid to “3 Mexican countries” — and told his viewers “I don’t know what’s going on over there.” On Sunday’s edition of CNN’s Reliable Sources, Stelter teased a segment by noting that “The only network that actually is apologizing for something this week is Fox News. I’ll show you what they’re apologizing for in just a moment.” After the commercial break, Stelter noted that “If President Trump was watching Lou Dobbs the other night, he heard that foreigners may kill millions of Americans.” He then played a clip from Fox host Lou Dobbs‘ Fox Business Channel show, in which Dobbs claims that “tens of thousands, perhaps millions of Americans” stand to be murdered by immigrants. His intro was

Watch: Fox & Friends Claims Trump Cut Aid to ‘3 Mexican Countries’

How many Mexicos (Mexicoes? Mexicae?) are there, exactly? Depends on who you’re asking. If it’s Fox & Friends, the answer, apparently, is three. On Sunday morning, as Pete Hegseth was talking about his desire that nations south of the border be best, the chyron beneath the hosts had a strange headline. TRUMP CUTS AID TO 3 MEXICAN COUNTRIES. Just a slip of the chyron. The hosts listed which countries the chyron was referring to. Bad chryons happen. Sometimes hilariously. And when it’s Fox, trust that CNN folks and some dedicated tweeters will catch it. Later in the show, co-host Ed Henry corrected the record regarding the number of Mexican countries.

“We apologize for the error, it never should have happened,” said Henry. Watch the clip above, via FOX News Channel.

Steve Doocy Counters Dem Candidate Jay Inslee: No One Blamed Flooding on Climate Change 50 Years Ago

Fox & Friends has invited every Democratic presidential hopeful to appear for a discussion and credit to Washington Governor Jay Inslee and host Steve Doocy for a segment that one doesn’t typically see on the right-of-center opinion program. Inslee is known for taking an active and progressive position on the challenges we face from climate change, a topic which often gets mocked on President Donald Trump’s favorite morning show, especially in light of the recent Green New Deal resolution.  So when the topic of environmental science came up, the segment really picked up. Doocy asked about the great expense that the Green New Deal brings (though the estimate of $93 Trillion that has been oft-cited is remarkably over-the-top.) Inslee explained that the greater expense is regular Americans having to deal with the rash of recent environmental disasters such as wildfires and floods. Doocy seemed surprised by that line Continue reading "Steve Doocy Counters Dem Candidate Jay Inslee: No One Blamed Flooding on Climate Change 50 Years Ago"

Fox & Friends Warns of New Wave of Migrants: ‘MOTHER OF ALL CARAVANS’

The hosts of Fox & Friends warned viewers of the imminent “mother of all caravans” entering the U.S. in the coming days, even though there are reports disputing the migrant group’s size. The network’s blaring “mother of all caravans” chyron was a quote from Mexico’s Interior Secretary Olga Sánchez Cordero, a nickname she gave the caravan amid her country’s crackdowns against migrants traveling through to reach the U.S. “Sounds like it could be 20,000 in all. People coming from El Salvador, Honduras, Guatemala. One activist though said the reports calling this the mother of all caravans is false,” host Steve Doocy noted, before warning that is a report from the Associated Press citing activists close to the migrants who dispute the existence of a caravan even close to that large. Honduras’ deputy foreign minister Nelly Jerez has also said, “There is no indication of such a caravan. Continue reading "Fox & Friends Warns of New Wave of Migrants: ‘MOTHER OF ALL CARAVANS’"

WATCH: Giuliani Falsely Claims Mueller Was Paid $30 Million for Russia Probe

In the midst of his victory lap on Monday night, Rudy Giuliani — attorney for President Donald Trump — made a pretty outrageous claim about special counsel Robert Mueller. Appearing on Hannity, the former New York City Mayor (in a moment flagged by the Washington Post‘s Aaron Blake), took a shot at Mueller for punting on the “key decision” — whether or not the president obstructed justice. And during his blistering critique, Giuliani made a fantastical comment referring to the special counsel’s personal salary during the two-year Russia investigation:
The guy got paid somewhere upwards of $30 million, but he couldn’t make the key decision. His hands were shaking.
The entire Russia investigation itself, as of December 2018, cost $25 million according to government filings. And Mueller’s personal salary has been reported to be $161,900 — according to multiple outlets. Mueller also, according to multiple reports, left Continue reading "WATCH: Giuliani Falsely Claims Mueller Was Paid $30 Million for Russia Probe"

Fox News’ Ed Henry Openly Mocks Pete Hegseth for Wanting to Investigate Hillary Clinton

Fox News host Ed Henry called out his colleague Pete Hegseth for suggesting new investigations of Hillary Clinton and others just seconds after saying “Can we get over 2016 already?” On Sunday’s edition of Fox & Friends, the weekend hosts were discussing the then-forthcoming summary of Special Counsel Robert Mueller‘s report, and the fact that Democrats will continue to investigate Trump on a variety of matters post-Mueller. “If you’re annoyed, I am too,” an annoyed Hegseth said. “Like, it never ever ever ever ever ends. Can we get over 2016 already, and run in 2020 if you want to beat this president?” But literally, in the next breath, Hegseth read from one of many recent calls for a new special counsel to investigate the investigation of Hillary Clinton, in this case a New York Post op-ed by Michael Goodwin entitled “How to end our national nightmare Continue reading "Fox News’ Ed Henry Openly Mocks Pete Hegseth for Wanting to Investigate Hillary Clinton"
