I Went to the Reagan Library to Ask Ken Starr a Key Question About Trump & Here’s What Happened

On Thursday evening of this week, I went to the magnificent Ronald Reagan Presidential Library here in Southern California to hear a presentation from former Special Prosecutor Ken Starr. He was there to speak about his new book Contempt, which details his investigation into Bill Clinton that eventually led to the president’s impeachment, and the loss of his law license. Having already interviewed Starr extensively, in person, back in 2006 on my old Los Angeles radio show, I wasn’t there to learn anything new about the Clinton saga. Instead, I had a very specific question I wanted to ask him about a position he has taken regarding President Donald Trump’s possible impeachment. My request for a formal interview had been declined, for some unknown reason, by his publicist, so I knew my only opportunity would be to wait until the public question and answer period at the end Continue reading "I Went to the Reagan Library to Ask Ken Starr a Key Question About Trump & Here’s What Happened"

Comey Speaks Out on Kavanaugh Probe in NY Times Op-Ed: FBI Knows That ‘Little Lies Point to Bigger Lies’

In an op-ed published by The New York Times on Sunday, former FBI director James Comey defended the bureau’s ability to conduct an investigation into the sexual assault allegations against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh but stressed that “if truth were the only goal, there would be no clock.” Defending the agency’s ability to investigate, Comey noted that an investigation could be conducted into allegations that happened years ago because time has “very little” to do with memories. “Yes, the alleged incident occurred 36 years ago,” he said. “But F.B.I. agents know time has very little to do with memory. They know every married person remembers the weather on their wedding day, no matter how long ago. Significance drives memory. They also know that little lies point to bigger lies. They know that obvious lies by the nominee about the meaning of words in a yearbook are Continue reading "Comey Speaks Out on Kavanaugh Probe in NY Times Op-Ed: FBI Knows That ‘Little Lies Point to Bigger Lies’"

James Comey on Kavanaugh: ‘Small Lies Matter’

On Thursday night, former FBI director James Comey responded to Brett Kavanaugh‘s testimony by tweeting out, “small lies matter.” “Small lies matter, even about yearbooks,” Comey wrote. “From the standard jury instruction: ‘If a witness is shown knowingly to have testified falsely about any material matter, you have a right to distrust such witness’ other testimony and you may reject all the testimony of that witness …'” Comey appeared to be referring to the Democratic senators’ questioning of Kavanaugh over his high school yearbook, including a heated exchange with Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse. During that exchange, Kavanaugh claimed Continue reading "James Comey on Kavanaugh: ‘Small Lies Matter’"

Comey Hints Mueller Probe is Wrapping Up: He May Be ‘In the Fourth Quarter’

Former FBI Director James Comey thinks Special Counsel Robert Mueller‘s probe may be headed for the finish line. In an interview with St. Louis Public Radio (via the Daily Caller), Comey said that Paul Manafort flipping could signal that Mueller is wrapping up his work. “[There’s] an argument to be made that the conviction – the plea and cooperation by Paul Manafort – may represent that we’re in the fourth quarter,” Comey said. Mueller, Comey notes, is getting ever closer to President Donald Trump. And that, according to the former FBI Director, could be a sign the probe is drawing to a close. “The way you normally do investigations is you work from the bottom up, and so they’re getting pretty high,” he said. Comey did add, “I’m hesitant to even say that is Bob Mueller’s conducted his investigation like a pro – you know nothing about it Continue reading "Comey Hints Mueller Probe is Wrapping Up: He May Be ‘In the Fourth Quarter’"

Trump Claims There Are ‘100 Pictures’ of Mueller and Comey ‘Hugging and Kissing Each Other’

President Donald Trump claimed in an interview that there are “100 pictures” of Special Counsel Robert Mueller and former FBI Director James Comey “hugging and kissing each other.” Trump spoke to the Daily Caller on Wednesday, and the website released a full transcript of the interview on Wednesday morning. At one point, Trump called Mueller’s probe into Russian interference and his campaign “an illegal investigation” that “should’ve never been started.” The Daily Caller asked Trump about his interview with Mueller to serve as FBI Director and asked the president why he didn’t give him the job. “But I had a business dispute with Mueller before that,” Trump replied. “I had a real business dispute.” He continued:
“And he’s Comey’s best friend. And I could give you 100 pictures of him and Comey hugging and kissing each other. You know, he’s Comey’s best friend. How can Continue reading "Trump Claims There Are ‘100 Pictures’ of Mueller and Comey ‘Hugging and Kissing Each Other’"

Trump Rips Jeff Sessions For Investigations Into ‘Very Popular’ GOP Congressmen, Compares Him to Comey

President Donald Trump unleashed on Attorney General Jeff Sessions for Justice Department investigations into two Republican congressmen, complaining that the charges hurt the GOP in the midterm elections. “Two long running, Obama era, investigations of two very popular Republican Congressmen were brought to a well publicized charge, just ahead of the Mid-Terms, by the Jeff Sessions Justice Department,” Trump tweeted on Monday. “Two easy wins now in doubt because there is not enough time.” “Good job Jeff,” he added. Trump is likely referring to Reps. Chris Collins and Duncan Hunter, two of his earliest Continue reading "Trump Rips Jeff Sessions For Investigations Into ‘Very Popular’ GOP Congressmen, Compares Him to Comey"
