As she was discussing her new projects on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Chelsea Handler said “it feels good to be awake” on how her success has been partly due to her being white. “You do it but you do it in a funny way. It’s a very well done book. Life Will Be The Death Of Me is the book. I also want to mention the Netflix documentary. I love the way you make these turns,” host Jimmy Fallon said. “You’re like, I’m just going to do a documentary whenever on a subject I feel like doing with Netflix and release it. Something that’s a little uncomfortable. You have a new one coming out in September.” “September. I did one on white privilege, my own. Because after I had this reassessment, and I just thought, okay, what kind of stuff am I putting out in the Continue reading "Chelsea Handler: ‘I Thought I Was Successful Because I Was Talented,’ But I Also Have White Privilege"

Former First Lady Michelle Obama brought down the house on Tuesday night’s edition of The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon with a two-word thought about waving goodbye from Air Force One after President Obama turned the government over to Donald Trump. During the second segment of an interview to promote FFLOTUS’ new book “Becoming,” host Jimmy Fallon asked Mrs. Obama to comment on a photo of the outgoing First Couple boarding Air Force One. “This is you, this is after the Trump inauguration just waving from Air Force One,” Fallon said, and asked “Can you just walk me through what — “Bye, Felicia!” Obama interrupted, to uproarious laughter from the crowd, and a doubled-over Fallon. After a few moments of laughter, Fallon asked “Is that what was going through your mind?” “A lot was going on that day,” Mrs. Obama answered. On Wednesday night, NBC’s Chuck Todd stopped by The Tonight Show and spoke about the turbulent news cycle under President Donald Trump. After discussing his excitement for the midterms and how he survived the elections by running on “coffee and gummies,” Todd lamented to Jimmy Fallon that he had to “change the lead” to his show due to the firing of Attorney General Jeff Sessions. “The president is a fire hose,” Todd said. “The guy just constantly- the one thing about him-” “He knows what he’s doing,” Fallon responded. The Meet The Press host’s facial expression and sigh signaled he didn’t exactly agree with Fallon, but the comedian doubled down. “He was in show business,” Fallon continued.  “He knows what he’s doing.” “Yes. In that sense, yes. It is show business” Todd agreed. “What I would say it is, it’s WWE. He’s Rowdy Roddy Piper and I’m Mean Gene Continue reading "NBC’s Chuck Todd Admits The Media Always Gets ‘Ginned Up’ By Trump"

Jimmy Fallon had a lot to say about President Donald Trump‘s recent attacks against him. Fallon kicked off his monologue Monday night by addressing the president’s tweet slamming him, calling on him to “be a man” after he was apologetic for his 2016 interview when he famously messed up Trump’s hair. “As you may have heard, the President of the United States went after me on Twitter,” Fallon told his audience. “So Melania, if you’re watching, I don’t think your anti-bullying campaign is working.” Later on, the Tonight Show host explained what was behind Trump’s tweet, which was an interview he gave in which he said he would have done his sit-down with the then-candidate “differently” and despite being “depressed” about the election at the time, he’s not depressed anymore since it was “two years ago” and that he has a show to do. Marjory Stoneman Douglas students got a big surprise at their high school graduation: Comedian Jimmy Fallon. Fallon made an unexpected appearance at the Sunday ceremony, taking the stage for a congratulatory speech punctuated with jokes and sentimental remarks, honoring the new class of graduates. “Today you’re graduating from high school,” he told the students. “You should feel incredibly proud of yourselves. That doesn’t mean you should rest on your laurels. Or your Yannys. Some of you will grow up to hear ‘Laurel,’ some of you will grow up to hear ‘Yanny,’ but the most important thing to remember is that neither of these things will matter by the end of the summer. Here’s what will matter: You, the class of 2018, will have graduated, and you won’t be classmates anymore. You’ll be adults who Facebook search each other at 2 in the morning for the next ten years.”

Jimmy Fallon Goes After Trump in Updated Version of ‘The Times They Are A-Changin’

During his big post-Super Bowl show in Minneapolis last night, Jimmy Fallon took the stage as Bob Dylan for an updated version of “The Times They Are A-Changin’.” And while it doesn’t directly mention President Trump, the normally-not-overtly-political Fallon was clearly taking jabs at the Commander-in-Chief. Lyrics in the song include “For weak is the man who calls truth ‘fake news,'” “Come journalists, writers who report the facts/And brandish your pen to fend off his attacks,” and “Come leaders who bully like Internet trolls.” There’s even a reference to athletes taking a knee, with Fallon/Dylan singing that critics should “listen to what they are saying” and “perhaps they’d stand up if you reached out your hand.” You can watch above, via NBC. Jimmy Fallon is now speaking out about the rather strong online reaction he got for messing up President Trump‘s hair during the campaign. This moment (video above), for many, represented a bridge too far in the normalization of Trump’s candidacy, and Fallon got a lot of backlash for it. In an interview with The New York TimesDave Itzkoff, the Tonight Show host got candid about his reaction to all the backlash:
“I’m a people pleaser,” he said. “If there’s one bad thing on Twitter about me, it will make me upset. So, after this happened, I was devastated. I didn’t mean anything by it. I was just trying to have fun.”
He said it was hard for him to read the news after that, though he did acknowledge he should have addressed the controversy on-air at the time. Fallon doesn’t talk about politics as much Continue reading "‘I Was Devastated’: Jimmy Fallon Opens Up About Backlash He Got for Trump Interview"

Happy Star Wars Day, and May the Fourth Be With You. On last nights Tonight Show, host Jimmy Fallon was doing an Audience Suggestion Box segment. He pulled out a suggestion that said, “I love Star Wars. I also love the song ‘All Star’ by Smash Mouth, which got me thinking, could you show all of the stars of Star Wars singing ‘All Star’?” What a concept, right? So, of course, Fallon obliged, since as the song notes, it doesn’t “make sense not to live for fun.” He played an incredible mashup video of the Star Wars characters singing the Smash Mouth song, and it’s pretty much the perfect start to the increasingly popular holiday. Seriously, though, get the show on. Watch above, via The Tonight Show. [featured image via screen grab]
