CNN’s John Berman mocked the Republican Party on Friday for how drastically their position seems to have changed in the President Donald Trump era. New Day started off with Berman and Alisyn Camerota recapping the news that Trump will sign Congress’ compromise bill, but will also declare a national emergency to obtain money for his demanded border wall. Critics say Trump’s move will invite immediate legal challenges and set a bad precedent for the country, and at one point, Berman wondered what Vice President Mike Pence would have to say about this.
