Mika Defends Snowy Klobuchar Event: Trump Wouldn’t Even Stand in the Rain to Honor Fallen Troops

Morning Joe host Mika Brzezinski ripped the apparent softness of the Commander in Chief during a quick report on a recent very snowy and could outdoor event. Senator Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) announced her candidacy for President this weekend in a very snowy outdoor event in Minneapolis this weekend, which drew the attention of President Donald Trump. The freezing temperatures and significant snowfall may have led other candidates to postpone or cut short an outdoor announcement, but nonetheless, she persisted, which drew praise for the Democratic senator from the predictable left of center outlets. The president, however, saw this as an event worthy of his mockery. Trump tweeted Sunday:

Mika Brzezinski Invokes David Hogg to Slam Ingraham on Migrant Children: ‘Don’t Bully Kids at Border’

MSNBC’s Mika Brzezinski called out Laura Ingraham on her apparent support for the Trump administration’s policy separating migrant kids from their families at the border on Saturday by pointing out she’s bullied kids before. “Laura Ingraham-WOW-Your guest even disagrees w/you! You need 2 watch this. Pls don’t bully kids at border now.. disappointing!” Brzezinski tweeted out. She then linked to a Mediaite article where Ingraham was quoted claiming that the facilities where the migrant kids were being kept away from their parents was not so bad. “To describe what we are doing at our border, where people cross the border illegally or present themselves and say, ‘I want asylum,’ as ‘concentration camps’ is both, I think, dismissive in minimizing the Holocaust and it’s just wrong,” Ingraham began, downplaying concerns about the children. Then she said this: “I mean, these kids have clean, nice facilities. They’re getting entertainment, recreation, Continue reading "Mika Brzezinski Invokes David Hogg to Slam Ingraham on Migrant Children: ‘Don’t Bully Kids at Border’"

‘SHUT UP’ Twitter Goes Nuts Over Trump’s Mika Was ‘Bleeding Badly From a Face-Lift’ Tweet

The Twitterverse is seething with rage after President Trump attacked MSNBC’s Mika Brzezinski by mocking her for having plastic surgery. Trump’s media criticisms are almost a daily routine now, but he took thinks to a new level when he tweeted that the Morning Joe co-host was “bleeding badly from a face-lift” when they encountered each other on New Years Eve. This kind of slam is quite shocking, even by Trump standards, and Twitter is ripping the president apart for it.

Trump Slams ‘Low I.Q. Crazy Mika,’ and ‘Psycho Joe’ Scarborough In Brutal Tweets

And now for something completely unexpected… President Trump is ripping the media again for critical coverage. Who are today’s targets, you ask? The hosts of Morning Joe. During the early stages of the 2016 election, Trump appeared to have an amicable relationship with Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski. Things eventually soured between the two parties, however, and the two faces of Morning Joe have been criticizing Trump ever since he took office as president. Back in January, the political media picked up Continue reading "Trump Slams ‘Low I.Q. Crazy Mika,’ and ‘Psycho Joe’ Scarborough In Brutal Tweets"

EXCLUSIVE: Sean Hannity Hits Back at Scarborough: ‘Do They Hold Hands Under The Desk?’

Sean Hannity Earlier today, Morning Joe host Joe Scarborough took aim at fellow cable news host Sean Hannity in a manner that one doesn’t typically see. Taking exception to Hannity’s continued coverage of the conspiracy surrounding Seth Rich‘s death — a report that is so thinly sourced that FoxNews.com retracted it — Scarborough called Hannity’s coverage “gross and repulsive” before going on to deride the Fox News personality as having “no shame.” We reached out to Mr. Hannity, who is currently enjoying an early Memorial Day vacation, for comment on Scarborough’s critique. Hannity did not demure.  “LOL, Joe and Mika are so cute together. Do they hold hands under the desk?” he told Mediaite, adding “That would be the only reason to watch the low rated daily emotional breakdowns they have.” Hannity is facing scrutiny for his continued coverage of the Rich story, which has led  Continue reading "EXCLUSIVE: Sean Hannity Hits Back at Scarborough: ‘Do They Hold Hands Under The Desk?’"

Sam Stein Jokes About Reagan Getting Shot in Mockery of Trump’s ‘Poor Treatment’

This post is by Colby Hall from Mediaite

By all accounts Huffington Post reporter Sam Stein is a very well-respected and likable figure in the political media world. It’s no surprise that he is a frequent guest pundit on Morning Joe, as his insightful commentary often transcends a form that is often both cliche and banal. So it was something of a surprise to see him reference the attempted assassination of President Ronald Reagan — cue angelic music — as a means to ridicule President Trump’s apparent obsession with how poorly he has been treated. After running a number of clips that appear to demonstrate Trump’s think skin (and massive ego), host Mika Brzezinski turned to her studio guest for comment. Stein laughed, before pointing out that there were a number of other president’s who had been treated worse than Trump, naming Lincoln and Reagan who were both shot. To be clear, Stein wasn’t in anyway mocking Continue reading "Sam Stein Jokes About Reagan Getting Shot in Mockery of Trump’s ‘Poor Treatment’"

Trump Unfollows Mika and Joe After Relentless Criticism From the MSNBC Hosts

There are few things more powerful in media today than Donald Trump’s Twitter feed. In addition to using it as a weapon against political opponents, the few dozen people he follows have an unprecedented ability to shape the news coverage he consumes.

That select group of accounts followed by Trump declined by two after the president unfollowed Morning Joe hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski. The purge happened sometime in the last two days and comes amidst relentless criticism from the pair on their popular MSNBC morning show.

In a recent widely shared segment, Brzezinski became emotional talking about Trump telling viewers “we’re all really nervous.” about his actions. She also declared his administration fake and failed. Scarborough, too, has called Trump “rambling” and not “in control of reality.”

The president, who is notoriously sensitive to criticism, may have taken the high road with a simple unfollow. Continue reading "Trump Unfollows Mika and Joe After Relentless Criticism From the MSNBC Hosts"

Scarborough Slams Brzezinski Criticism as ‘Sexist’

Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski opened up Wednesday’s edition of Morning Joe promising weighty discussions about healthcare and President Donald Trump’s claims of wiretapping.

But before they got into it, the pair went on an extended riff at Fox News, in particular singling out Eric Bolling and the program Outnumbered.

“They have this show on Fox called Outnumbered,” said Scarborough, “and all these people with long legs and short skirts talk about how people feel about the news,” quipped Brzezinski finishing his sentence.

“They had like 30 women or something and like one guy in the middle,” continued Scarborough. “It was poor Eric Bolling and he was wonderful.”

The hosts were alluding to a segment which analyzed Brzezinski’s much mocked performance earlier this week in which she passionately told viewers that “we’re all really nervous” about Trump. It was a show The Continue reading "Scarborough Slams Brzezinski Criticism as ‘Sexist’"

‘They Don’t Realize Rome is Burning’: Mika Brzezinski Hammers Trump Again Over Wiretapping Claims

Morning Joe co-host Mika Brzezinski opened Tuesday’s edition of the show with a renewed assault on Donald Trump’s claims of wiretapping by his predecessor Barack Obama. The allegations, made over Twitter, came with no evidence and have been roundly denied by current and former leaders of U.S. intelligence agencies. Brzezinski suggested she had her own sources telling her that Trump knew he had erred. “I have some reporting talking to a few people who are either close to the White House or inside it that the president actually knows he messed up and won’t admit it, just refuses to admit it,” said Brzezinski. “Everyone in that inner cadre … they’re so busy trying to either save their hides or get each other’s jobs that they don’t realize Rome is burning.” “This president’s style is to let people fight it out,” quipped regular Continue reading "‘They Don’t Realize Rome is Burning’: Mika Brzezinski Hammers Trump Again Over Wiretapping Claims"

Mika Brzezinski is Officially Done With Donald Trump: ‘This Presidency is Fake and Failed’

On a day replete with doom and gloom on Morning Joe, co-hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski closed out the show with some grim analysis. “I think we reached a new low this weekend,” said Scarborough of President Donald Trump’s claim that his campaign in Trump Tower was wiretapped by the administration of his predecessor, Barack Obama. Brzezinski was even tougher. “I had hope and an open mind and I have lost hope completely and my mind is closed,” she said definitively. “This presidency is fake and failed.” The assessment comes at a fraught time for the young Trump administration. Engulfed by scandal almost since Day one, the latest imbroglio suggests either that President Obama broke the law or a FISA court judge believed there was probable cause to order a wiretap. Intelligence officials, including former Director of National Intelligence, James Clapper, and Continue reading "Mika Brzezinski is Officially Done With Donald Trump: ‘This Presidency is Fake and Failed’"

‘Let Me Go Very, Very Dark on You’: Michael Hayden Speculates About Trump Wiretapping Claims

This post is by Jon Levine from Mediaite

On Monday’s edition of Morning Joe, former Director of the NSA and CIA Gen. Michael Hayden weighted in on President Donald Trump’s claim that his White house predecessor, Barack Obama, wiretapped his campaign in Trump Tower. The General, and old intelligence hand, was blunt and dismissive. “If you take literally what the president tweeted, the plumbing just doesn’t work that way,” he said. “It could not have happened the way the president said it.” According to Hayden, a president has not had the authority to do what Trump described in his tweets since the “mid 1970s,” suggesting that today a wiretap like that would require probable cause and approval from a judge. Prominent Republicans have already publicly fretted about the implications of what it would mean if a FISA court judge did find probable cause to order a wiretap. Hayden suggested that Continue reading "‘Let Me Go Very, Very Dark on You’: Michael Hayden Speculates About Trump Wiretapping Claims"

picmonkey-collage-mika After an election campaign in which he repeatedly appeared on her show, Morning Joe co-host Mika Brzezinski absolutely blasted President Donald Trump on Twitter Thursday. “This feels like a fake Presidency,” Brzezinski tweeted. “The President needs to succeed for America,” the MSNBC star wrote. “But he has crossed the line too many times.” It’s unclear what specifically led to this tweet. But it was posted roughly three hours after Trump’s Thursday afternoon press conference, which has been met with criticism in many corners. Are We Seriously Supposed to Buy Mika Brzezinski’s Clinton Campaign Claim?

This post is by John Ziegler from Mediaite

Click here to view on the original site: Original Post

MikaOn Friday’s Morning Joe, MSNBC’s Mika Brzezinski causally dropped what appeared to be a bombshell. During the presidential campaign, she claimed, the Hillary Clinton campaign had “called” NBC in an effort to have her taken “off of the air.” This supposedly happened because Brzezinski was making comments which indicated that she thought that the Clinton camp was not taking the risk of losing to Donald Trump seriously enough. If true, this is obviously an extremely serious charge with significant implications. However, for several reasons, I am not buying it. To be clear, my skepticism isn’t because I think it is beyond the Clinton camp’s modus operandi to try to pull something like this. The Wikileaks revelations have shown time and again that they clearly saw most of the news media, especially those at MSNBC, as effectively working for their team. After all, based on the last three presidential Continue reading "Are We Seriously Supposed to Buy Mika Brzezinski’s Clinton Campaign Claim?"

Morning Joe: Star of David Defending Saddam-Praising Donald Trump ‘Got His Groove Back!’

This post is by Tommy Christopher from Mediaite

1thumb1The crew over at MSNBC’s Morning Joe continued to deliver the top-notch political analysis we’ve come to expect when, on Thursday morning, they all agreed that presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump “got his groove back” during two speeches this week, while acknowledging that those speeches continued to contain defenses of Trump’s anti-Semitic star of David tweet and reiterations of his longstanding praise for Saddam Hussein. This might sound absurd at first blush, but hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski explained that despite those and other seemingly disastrous flaws, Trump “connected” with the audience, and recaptured the “energy” and “joy” of campaigning. Despite the anti-Semitism and praise for Saddam Hussein, panelist Mark Halperin agreed that Trump “has a sense of what it will take to win” this election.
This is also the tale of two speeches. The Continue reading "Morning Joe: Star of David Defending Saddam-Praising Donald Trump ‘Got His Groove Back!’"

The Radio Diaries: Adventures in Hosting a Week’s Worth of Talk Shows on Sirius XM

siriusxmAn old friend — perhaps in an effort to help himself fall asleep — recently asked me what I enjoy doing most: Writing or television?

Answer: Neither.

Instead, the top choice happens to radio. There’s just something more organic, natural, less restrained and more relaxed in doing radio than there is on television, which tends to oftentimes feel rushed and restrained with a commercial break always seemingly looming. And the best part about an audio-only medium is avoiding the makeup process, hair process, finding suits that don’t need to be pressed or ties that need to be chosen. Most of the time when doing radio spots, the experience here has been to conduct such conversations from the couch… usually sans shoes and sporting one of 167 baseball caps owned. And all it takes 10-12 minutes and a landline…

So you can imagine how exciting it is to be chosen to Continue reading "The Radio Diaries: Adventures in Hosting a Week’s Worth of Talk Shows on Sirius XM"

Have You Heard the Voicemails for Trump from Practically Every Big Wig in Liberal Media?

Wha do Tom Brady, David Axelrod, Don King, and MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough, Mika Brzezinski, and Tamron Hall all have in common? (Besides all getting frequent coverage here at Mediaite?) They’re all pretty darn buddy-buddy with one Mr. Donald J. Trump, which we know because Gawker got an anonymous tip full of what appears to be the man’s received voicemails. This isn’t the first time I will say this, but it is important to clarify that Gawker was unable to verify that these voicemails are all completely real. As soon as one of the alleged voicemailers or Trump himself confirms their veracity, this post will be updated, though you will see that Scarborough has already reacted, which seems to indicate that his voicemails are legit. Listen: We already know Trump and Brady — whose alleged voicemails began with “it’s your favorite quarterback calling” Continue reading "Have You Heard the Voicemails for Trump from Practically Every Big Wig in Liberal Media?"

Game Changed: MSNBC Throws Bernie Into a Fire, Hillary Into a Pillow Fight

This post is by Tommy Christopher from Mediaite

After months of displaying a demonstrable anti-Hillary Clinton and pro-Bernie Sanders bias, something seems to have changed at MSNBC, if the network’s two most recent interviews are any indication. Morning Joe hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski, who only ever take time out from attacking Hillary to fluff Donald Trump, conducted a nearly 40-minute interview with Clinton that was softer than a warm roll of Charmin. The interview aired Friday morning, and here’s a taste of what Hillary faced on that snuggly firing line: Even the brief foray into Hillary’s email “scandal” was as gentle as a baby aspirin. By contrast, Bernie Sanders did an hour-long town hall special with Chris Matthews Thursday night, and the questioning there went beyond adversarial and into sneering derisiveness that was just this side of abusive: Now, there are ways and there are ways to conduct a “tough” interview, Continue reading "Game Changed: MSNBC Throws Bernie Into a Fire, Hillary Into a Pillow Fight"

CNN’s Byers TMZ-Esque Report on Scarborough’s Trump Resort Stay Flimsy as it is Feeble (UPDATED)

js_360There are nothingburgers in this business served up as yuge entrees of behind-the-scenes insight. And then there was the whole bowl of wrong CNN’s Dylan Byers just cooked up today in his column on the relationship between Joe Scarborough and Donald Trump for CNN Money. To review, Byers claims through his unnamed sources at 30 Rock that Scarborough’s cozy relationship with the GOP frontrunner is causing “increasing discomfort” over at MSNBC. One big nugget offered up by Byers’ reporting is that Scarborough has actually stayed at a Trump resort in Palm Beach, Florida during the Christmas and New Year’s holidays in the past. Talk about cheap, pointless and a clear need for a chiropractor given all that stretching on the writer’s part: Trump owns dozens of properties in cities and resort towns around the world. So is Byers actually insinuating that this revelation equals some kind of quid-pro-quo between Trump Continue reading "CNN’s Byers TMZ-Esque Report on Scarborough’s Trump Resort Stay Flimsy as it is Feeble (UPDATED)"

NBC’s Arouzi Credits Nuclear Deal for Release of U.S. Sailors, But Here’s Where He Missed the Boat

JpoeThere was a subtly fascinating transition to kick off MSNBC’s Morning Joe today between a traditional foreign correspondent and co-host Joe Scarborough. Topic: Iran’s capture and release of ten U.S. sailors who accidentally wandered off course and into Iranian territorial waters on Tuesday. At 6:00 AM EST, co-host Mika Brzezinski kicked off the show with a review and update on what had transpired in the Persian Gulf yesterday and this morning before tossing to NBC News Tehran Bureau Chief Ali Arouzi for more details. Most of the report consisted of Arouzi recounting what had initially occurred along with statements from Iran’s Revolutionary Guard stating why the Americans were released (Guard paraphrased: no evidence of intent or espionage could be found by upon confirming the two U.S. boats were experiencing difficulties with its navigation system). Standard stuff. Sound reporting. But then like those two American boats, Arouzi veered off Continue reading "NBC’s Arouzi Credits Nuclear Deal for Release of U.S. Sailors, But Here’s Where He Missed the Boat"

Huckabee on Carson’s Media Complaints: ‘Pal, You Ain’t Seen Nothing Yet’

Presidential candidate Mike Huckabee assured Morning Joe co-host Mika Brzezinski Monday that he never hit his mother with a hammer or stabbed anybody, drawing sharp contrast with his Republican rival Ben Carson. “So just curious, I mentioned Ben Carson because we’ve focused a lot on him this morning and some of the discrepancies that have come out of his memoir,” Brzezinski began, asking Huckabee if the media would find similar “voids and holes” in his own work if the books he’s “written were put under the same scrutiny.” Huckabee told Brzezinki that he’s sure the 12 books he’s written have “all been put under incredible scrutiny,” adding that it’s something you expect if you run for office. “You’re going to be put through the sausage grinder,” Huckabee said. “I’m not going to get into arguing what Ben did and didn’t do,” Huckabee said. “But the one thing that I Continue reading "Huckabee on Carson’s Media Complaints: ‘Pal, You Ain’t Seen Nothing Yet’"
