Morning Joe Contributor: No Question Trump Campaign Colluded With the Russians

Rick Tyler self-identifies on his Twitter bio as an American Conservative, a speaker, an actor, and a “Leadership Institute trainer.” He is also a “MSNBC Political Analyst” who landed the elusive Morning Joe panel seat on a mid-August Friday morning. On a day of substitute morning show hosts, Aretha Franklin tributes and rehashed John Brennan security clearance news, Tyler delivered a well-worn chestnut with the sort of verve and confidence that cable news producers and bookers love, and that was averring with little doubt that there was the Trump campaign had colluded with the Russians. The context of his comment came after  Senator Richard Burr  — chair of the Senate Intelligence committee — released a statement critical of former CIA Director John Brennan’s NY Times editorial that claimed that Trump colluded with Russia, which read:

Director Brennan’s recent statements purport to know as fact that the Trump campaign colluded Continue reading "Morning Joe Contributor: No Question Trump Campaign Colluded With the Russians"

Morning Joe Mocks Andrew Cuomo for Saying America Was ‘Never That Great’: He Thinks ‘America is Not An S-hole Country’

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo is not getting away with saying America “was never that great” on any of the morning shows – not even the liberal-leaning Morning Joe. Speaking about the comment Thursday – as well as the sloppy cleanup job on Twitter thereafterWillie Geist said: “Never a good day when you have to come out and explicitly clarify that you believe America is great.” “The governor believes that America is not an s-hole country, Willie,” John Heilemann quipped. “Straight on the plate.” “Boy, if you wanted to pull that in an ad and if you wanted to create an enemy for President Trump to stand as a sort of an avatar for the left, there you have it,” Geist added. “He was trying to sound like a Progressive… He is just a very bad retail politician,” Noah Rothman said, later adding: “Conservatives should make Continue reading "Morning Joe Mocks Andrew Cuomo for Saying America Was ‘Never That Great’: He Thinks ‘America is Not An S-hole Country’"

Morning Joe Ridicules Twitter CEO Interview: ‘Jack Dorsey Call Your Media Trainer’

Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey sat down for an interview with NBC News’ Lester Holt to discuss his decision to suspend Alex Jones’ account, and Morning Joe was not impressed. Dorsey explained that the seven day “timeout” given to Jones will could encourage him to “think” about his actions. “Any suspension — whether it be a permanent suspension or a temporary one — makes someone think about their actions, and their behaviors,” Dorsey said. Morning Joe was unconvinced. “Jack Dorsey call your media trainer,” John Heilemann snarked. “That’s just a horrible performance… He just sounds so kind of dopey in responding to this. And the question is the right question. Alex Jones has created an incredibly profitable, lucrative media empire built on conspiracy theory and hate mongering. The idea a week’s long time-out is going to change his incentive structure is ridiculous.” “The Dorsey argument that by giving Alex Jones Continue reading "Morning Joe Ridicules Twitter CEO Interview: ‘Jack Dorsey Call Your Media Trainer’"

Donny Deutsch: Trump So Fragile that Secret Service Act as ‘Fluffers’ to ‘Pump Him Up’

Donny Deutsch isn’t just your standard Morning Joe contributor who joins in the daily chorus of criticism of President Donald Trump. Mr. Deutsch also happens to be a kindred spirit to Mr. Trump: they both grew up in Queens, benefited from their father’s family business, and both have become reality television fixtures (to varying successes.) They both have travelled in the same social circles, so when Deutsch reveals insights into how the president is being handled while enjoying a working vacation at his Bedminster Country Club, it’s probably more reliably sourced than other cable news pundits. During a segment discussing presidential approval ratings that seem glued to the low 40’s, Deutsch painted a picture of a President “so fragile” that before he enters a room, Secret Service agents encourage guests to “say positive things” and pump Trump up, ultimately likening them to “fluffers.” Deutsch said “somebody told me at his country club in Continue reading "Donny Deutsch: Trump So Fragile that Secret Service Act as ‘Fluffers’ to ‘Pump Him Up’"

Joe Scarborough Mocks Giuliani’s Contradictory Statements: Does He Have Dementia?

Joe Scarborough mocked a recurring figure of his disdain on Morning Joe Monday: Rudy Giuliani, once America’s Mayor, now President Donald Trump‘s cable news happy lawyer. Giuliani’s latest botched media appearance came Sunday, when he appeared on CNN’s State of the Union to insist that Trump never told former FBI Director James Comey to give Michael Flynn a break. Just a month ago, Giuliani said on ABC News that Trump told Comey to give Flynn a break. Tapper had the video, and confronted him with it, to comical results. After playing those videos, Scarborough burst out laughing. “What are we to make of that?” the MSNBC host asked. “Is Rudy Giuliani making it up as he goes along? Is he purposefully lying? Does he have early onset of dementia?” “I don’t want to rule out early offset,” John Heilemann joked, before saying he’s likely making things Continue reading "Joe Scarborough Mocks Giuliani’s Contradictory Statements: Does He Have Dementia?"

Joe Scarborough: Einstein ‘May Have Ended Up in Nazi Concentration Camp’ Under Trump’s Immigration Viewpoint

Joe Scarborough decried the immigration rhetoric of President Donald Trump — and his supporters, like Laura Ingraham and Corey Stewart — on Morning Joe Friday, pointing to famous immigrants who found success in the United States. Ingraham faced backlash this week after saying on her Fox News show this week that “the America that we know and love doesn’t exist anymore” because of “massive demographic changes.” Stewart is, of course, the Trump-endorsed, pro-secession Republican nominee for Senate from Virginia with extensive ties to white nationalists. “All of this talk, from Laura Ingraham to Corey Stewart, overlooks one small detail of American history,” Scarborough said on Morning Joe Friday. “That many Americans said the same ignorant thing hundreds of years ago, and 150 years ago when the Irish came. They said the same ignorant things when the Germans came. They said the same ignorant things when the Italians came to Continue reading "Joe Scarborough: Einstein ‘May Have Ended Up in Nazi Concentration Camp’ Under Trump’s Immigration Viewpoint"

Reagan Speech Brings Mika Brzezinski to Tears, Unlike Laura Ingraham’s ‘Trashy, Very Ugly and Very Sad’ Remarks

Morning Joe aired two clips first thing on Friday, both showing conservatives talking immigration. One made MSNBC’s liberal host Mika Brzezinski cry on live television, the other she called “very trashy, very ugly and sad.” The first was of Laura Ingraham, the Fox News host who faced a brutal backlash after saying on her show this week that “the America that we know and love doesn’t exist anymore” because of “massive demographic changes.” The second was of former President Ronald Reagan, patron saint of Republicans, in his famous final speech: “You can go to live in France, but you cannot become a Frenchman. You can go to live in Germany or Turkey or Japan, but you cannot become a German, a Turk, or a Japanese. But anyone, from any corner of the Earth, can come to live in America and become an American.” “So nearly 30 years Continue reading "Reagan Speech Brings Mika Brzezinski to Tears, Unlike Laura Ingraham’s ‘Trashy, Very Ugly and Very Sad’ Remarks"
